the camp is located about half way between elk lake and matachewan. probably about 15 miles to either town. i will be there the beginning of august. its a great laid back camp, and has a nice beach area for the kids. there are alot of lakes in the area, so leaving the trailer hooked up is a good idea to do some exploring. if you need some more info just send me a pm and i can tell ya more, been their about the last 15 years. jason

I really like this email I got. Unfortunately, it's true but something to think about in terms of where our society is, and unfortunately is going. Thought it needed to be shared. 1953 vs 2006 Scenario: Jack pulls into school parking lot with rifle in gun rack. 1953 - Vice Principal comes over, takes a look at Jack's rifle, goes to his car and gets his to show Jack. 2006 - School goes into lockdown, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers. Scenario: Johnny and Mark get into a fist fight after school. 1953 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up best friends. Nobody goes to jail, nobody arrested, nobody expelled. 2006 - Police called, SWAT team arrives, arrests Johnny and Mark. Charge them with assault, both expelled even though Johnny started it. Scenario: Jeffrey won't be still in class, disrupts other students. 1953 - Jeffrey sent to office and given a good paddling by Principal. Sits still in class. 2006 - Jeffrey given huge doses of Ritalin. Becomes a zombie. School gets extra money from state because Jeffrey has a disability. Scenario: Billy breaks a window in his father's car and his Dad gives him a whipping. 1953 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college, and becomes a successful businessman. 2006 - Billy's Dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy removed to foster care and joins a gang. Billy's sister is told by state psychologist that she remembers being abused herself and their Dad goes to prison. Billy's mom has affair with psychologist. Scenario: Mark gets a headache and takes some headache medicine to school. 1953 - Mark shares headache medicine with Principal who has a headache also. 2006 - Police called, Mark expelled from school for drug violations. Car searched for drugs and weapons. Scenario: Mary turns up pregnant. 1953 - 5 High School Boys leave town. Mary does her senior year at a special school for expectant mothers. 2006 - Middle School Counselor calls Planned Parenthood, who notifies the ACLU. Mary is driven to the next state over and gets an abortion without her parent's consent or knowledge. Mary given condoms and told to be more careful next time. Scenario: Pedro fails high school English. 1953 : Pedro goes to summer school, passes English, goes to college. 2006 : Pedro's cause is taken up by state democratic party. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against state school system and Pedro's English teacher. English banned from core curriculum. Pedro given diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he can't speak English Scenario: Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from the 4th of July, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle, blows up a red ant bed 1953 - Ants die. 2006 - BATF, Homeland Security, FBI called. Johnny charged with domestic terrorism, FBI investigates parents, siblings removed from home, computers confiscated, Johnny's Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again. Scenario: Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee. He is found crying by his teacher, Mary. Mary, hugs him to comfort him. 1953 - In a short time Johnny feels better and goes on playing. 2006 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She faces 3 years in State Prison

ive met several nascar drivers, jack roush is from my home county. got to meet jack,greg biffle, mark martin at michigan, we were with jacks brother and they all came over to the motor home and hung out a while. i met sterling marlin and jamie mcmurray a couple years ago in bristol. sterling is a real down to earth guy. ive also met a few country singers, my fraternity always helped set up the stage for the acts when i was in college. tracy lawerance was pretty good, chris leduex was as common of a guy as you will ever meet, just a good ol cowboy. mila mason who was as hott as anything ive ever seen was ready to come back to the fraternity house till her manager told her no! nba player brian grant played in our schools leage and i went to college with his brother, he's a very nice guy and gives alot to the community. thats about it as for stardom. i do hope to get a chance to fish with some of the great fishing icons on here of course.

bring on summer!!! hopefully it will be a busy one getting married in early june and going to cancun for the honeymoon, hope to take a day on a charter, as well as do some shore fishing while the wife is catching the sun. end of june planning on spending a week going to haliburton to visit some fishing friends and maybe make the g2g for a couple days. end of july going to elk lake/matachewan area for 10 days. im getting pumped just writing about it, cant wait for it to get here. jason

Amen nipsing, been to both of those tracks and your are exactly right, everyone is there to have a good time, sure you will get the normal razzing about drivers but it's all in fun. i think thats what makes nascar so great, so many people their all to have a good time, and very seldom have i seen anyone get too far out of line.

you could gather a few dog logs, buy a brownie mix, cook the brownies and offer them as a gift to let "by-gones be by-gones". or buy a tub of lard and set it out, after the pooch gets enough of that, he wont make out the door of their house cause he will be crapping all over theirs. j/ k its not the dogs fault, im sure its smarter and better trained than its owners.

i would probably leave to ol cat rod at home, like rick said just go with a medium action 7' rod, with 12-14 lb stren. for baits we always do good on the smallies with 1 1/2 inch mad man crawdad tubes off rocky points or shoals, and #3 white mepps will catch about anything. get ya a pair/bring some polarized glasses, plenty of bug spray, and some sun block. If this is your first time fishing ontario, you are in for a treat, im a die hard cat man, but it just isnt the same since i first fished ontario about 15 years ago, been back every year since. I'm sure you will have a blast. jason p.s. also when you get to camp, ask the outfitter whats hot for the time, im sure they will be happy to suggest the right lure.
