1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Vs. Whitetail Deer
oxcowboy replied to brandon's topic in General Discussion
dang brandon if ya were that hell bent on getting a whitetail ya should came down to the farm we got plenty sorry to hear bout the bad luck, but glad you are ok. as for the suv, see what the estimate is on it and go from there. i wouldnt sink a whole lot a money in it, with the price of gas surely you can find a decent deal on a newer model with less miles. i hope everything works out for ya. jason -

my soon to be wife isnt a fishing fan at all, but she does like the fact that me and my soon to be stepson both enjoy the outdoors, it is a chance for us to do some bonding, and i know in the future that it will always be something that we have in common even when the terrible teens hit. i go on a 10 day trip to norhern ontario every year, she knows that it is part of me, and its not going to change. she is ok with it but says when the boys get big enough i have to take them with me. I CANT WAIT untill that day comes. i look forward and cherrish the day we go on our first canadian outing together. jason

hey folks just thought i would share a few pics from the last 2 times i have had a chance to do a little fishing. the best thing is i have had a chance to do it with my stepson ethan. he is becoming quite the little angler at 5 years old. the first pic is of a small mouth we got out of one of our farm ponds, there are only a couple of them in there, but seem to be doing pretty good, i guess it around 2.5 lbs the next picture is of a blue cat. this is the best one i have caught this year, but i hope to improve some as i get to do more fishing once school is out. it weighed about 15 lbs. ethan went wild when he saw it, he said " Thats the biggest fish i NEVER SAW. Ethan managed to catch several bluegills and a nice little largemouth that evening. The next time i got out was to a little creek that feeds into the ohio river. all together i landed 13 fish 8 flat head catfish , 2 drum a smallmouth, a sucker , and a nice little sauger ( closest thing to a walleye i can get without heading north). no real size yet, but im hoping to do a little better down the road, sure was alot of fun catching them all though. hope i havent bored ya'll to death. good luck out on the water. jason

all you should need this year is a birth certificate and driver's liscence. i would recomend the 407, its a nice road and you can make pretty good time on it. i have used both and would go with the 407 anyday. jason

i was and always will be a dale sr. fan, but i am a jr. fan as well. i think it is a good move for him to get away from dei, and yes dei will make it ok, but only because of dale sr. dei is making so much money off of sr. still to this day. will they be competitive i dont think so. i like truex, but if jr forms his own team i think truex will go with him as well. if jr does go and probably should in my opinion with an established team childress would be a good fit. i however would like to see him at gibbs with tony and denny hamlin which are pretty good buddies with jr. it would be awesome to see the 3 car back on the track, and jr is the only one that could and should pull it off, anybody else would be a sin. jason

great topic, heres a few of mine that i dont think anyone has said. a working flashlight, i got one of those wind up deals, so you never have to worry about batteries, not the brightest, but makes enough to get around some or fix something in the dark. also a spare tire for the truck and boat. a plug kit for a tire, and a couple of trash bags, they make a good poncho, plugs a hole, or helps keep in body temp, not to mention fill them with trash at your local fishing hole. jason

a 2or 3 lb sheephead isnt too bad, keep em fresh, and deep fry it. i think it is very simialr to a bass. i cant say i have ever ate a bullhead, but channel cats and flat heads are great with a cajun batter. jason

if thats the case, i think my buddy tried to pick you up at the matachewan bar. lol fun times, but makes me glad its 900 miles from home. will will be heading up that way at the end of july. jason

virginia school shooting kills 22...
oxcowboy replied to urbanangler1990's topic in General Discussion
this is a very sad day not only for virginia tech, but for the entire u.s. and the world even. this is such a senseless crime for all of humanity. you can throw race, religion, political beliefs out the window, this wacko did nothing for the world. there is no point, or agenda for such a rampage. boo hoo your girl broke up with ya, go have a few beers and find another one. what is wrong with people these days? i have been screwed over by countless women, and the thought of killing a bunch of strangers would be the farthest thing from my mind. i have spent a little time on the v-tech campus, i even thought of going to vt for awhile, but then decided on a college closer to home. i have some friends that went to school there,(graduated) it seems like a great place for college, and excells in many different majors. i wish all of the students and especially the families of all the victims the strength to get through this horrible time. it is truly a sad day for the human race. jason -

hey folks, i was wondering if any of you had fished in cancun, im getting married in june and we are going there for the honeymoon. i dont care what i catch, i just want to do some fishing while we are there. my main questions are: Are you allowed to fish on the beach? we will be in the hotelzone, i dont plan on fishing during the day while people are swimming, but maybe early mornings and nights. Do i need a fishing liscence? Do any of you have a captain that you would recomend for a deep sea trip while we are there? i have the future wife talked into one day at sea. thanks, jason
