  1. Oh the thrills of fishing the north country. Great report
  2. I do recall a right nasty snowstorm late April, beginning of May, in the late 60's? Good on you, Cudz, For making a day out of it with your children.
  3. The 400 extension past Waubushene was bad enough. A lot of good people had their lives and lifestyle turned upside down by that project. Killed a lot of the local colour, and the economy. I'm still amazed they haven't torn out "Gasoline Alley" . There are a lot of dead businesses and derelict properties already on the stretch to Orillia
  4. Try E.C. Brown park, behind the airport. A decent shore spot for cats..
  5. Thr lower Grand is always dirty.
  6. Those who are catching them are being 'vewy, vewy, qwuiet. Hehehehehehe'
  7. No late winter angst for me. Every season is fishing season.
  8. Not enough tackle yet. There are only 2 rooms in the house lacking fishing gear. The TV room (all Disney), and the bathroom (a Wife thing )
  9. Like they say. All problems in life can be solved by going fishing. Great report.
  10. The opening day most are talking about is for Zone 17, 4th Saturday in April.
  11. Nice hijack
  12. Hi! Billy Mays here....
  13. Problem? What problem? It's the rest of the world that's a few screws loose. Yeah. That's it. Fishing's good for you.
  14. Been a while , but cooky is in the kitchen tonight. Time to satisfy that sweet tooth with some peanut brittle. If yer all real nice like, I might even share.
  15. Nice cats there Court. Hopefully I can get out there after the show this weekend.
  16. Pike , walleye, panfish. Weeds should just be emerging in mid May.Shallower ledges and bays should still produce. A lot depends on water temps. Spoons and jerk baits for pike. Harnesses tipped with minnow will produce for all 3 targets. Expect a better bite in the afternoon as the sun warms up the water.
  17. So who's running the camera boat for this expedition?
  18. That is the price of sponsorship.
  19. A few more rep members than I expected. Great.
  20. Sheet rubber. No maintenance, durable, hose down to clean Seriously, vinyl or laminate will be fine will a good insulator underneath. Some people have put a 2" raised sub-floor in first with insulation and vapour barrier. Remember, moisture does come through the concrete and will cause problems down the road if not dealt with first.
  21. Lure Washers International Chief spoon washer
  22. A little hint from a former scouter. I used to run fishing excursions from Beavers through to Scouts. You need 1 adult per 2 youth. They usually need a lot of help. The eye protection is a good idea. We would also try to sneak a little learning in there towards badge work. A few other spots within the hour: Toronto Islands canals; Holland marsh canals at the 400 and#9 or just at the next ramp north; Charles Daley park has 2 ponds with lots of spring cats QEW at Jordan; Holland river Bradford.
  23. I'm working on getting the chauffeur/Mrs to come on out. Be nice to meet some of the 'names'
  24. I've got 100 odd garlic sprouts growing nicely. This week it time for chard, spinach, leeks and beets.
  25. Looks like a great day on the ice. Nice slab the GF got. I'm guessing 12-13"?
