  1. With running back and forth to hospitals, again , fishing time just isn't in the cards too often. 4 hours this evening were very welcome. Grabbed the backback and ran to a wee little hotspot tucked away from most along L Gibson. Took a bit to find what needed to be on the menu for dinner, but found they all wanted tubes. Today's sampling. And today's monster... No pigs but a steady lite bite and short strikes, plus a few WGSF's to keep it interesting. All released for another day. Caught just enough though to maintain my sanity for a few more days.
  2. I try different techniques every year. If you fish the same spotys with the same tactic, year after year, the bite will slow down. Sometimes you have to give them something new. This year it was Senkos. Result was pretty good.
  3. Had the fingers thrashed a few times by big toothy critters. That's why you keep a roll of duct tape on the boat. It'll seal it up tight til you get to a Dr. Or it might hold it together well enough to heal if you're in the bush. Nice skis
  4. Focusing on the eye candy just causes addes eye strain at your age . You'll be wearing coke bottles in no time Great report just the same.
  5. We had a dollarama derby here at OFC last year. Rod , reel and tackle had to be all Dollarama. It was a challenge but do-able.
  6. Guelph Lake and Conostogo Lake conservation areas are relatively nearby.
  7. I can't remember where in the eastern states we were visiting, but we happened to be there when a major brood emerged. The sidewalks and streets were covered with them every morning.
  8. Only if you keep McGuinty down there with you.
  9. Shor nuff sounds like somethin that mite happen out in Hazzard County. Right boy?
  10. pretty sure it's not required for your boat, but a nice convenience when swimming from the boat. I had a folding and stow model. Cost $75.
  11. I got a marine policy with State Farm that was reasonable, yet good coverage. When I sheared my prop shaft, no problem. Work was approved and completed a little more than a week after filing a claim. Rates never went up and stayed $100 below the nearest competitor. The 2 marine insurance companies I talked to quoted $150 over the policy I got. SHOP AROUND
  12. Unfortunately, the alternative to manures and other "organic" fertilizers is chemical. What else can you do with the brown waste? put in a landfill it still leaches into the water table. Yes the factory farm uses too much, but that is how they push crops to meet production schedules.
  13. Not as if it has never happened before BM4. We've had snow in early August in the Haliburtons and Muskokas some decades back. Ma Nature just likes to keep things interesting.
  14. Great report. Nice pics. Next time you go AWOL for a spell you need a better excuse. Something like being chained to the bed posts every night might be believable
  15. Right nice bucket you got there.
  16. That's why we now calls it Molson American.
  17. Great report. Good to see you hit multiple bodies of water during your vacation.
  18. You exposed him to the dreaded "Macarena Monkey"!!! It's no wonder he ran to his room
  19. Been done here in Ontario in a dozen different manifestations and progressing technologies over the past 40 years. More recent would be Canadian Sportfishing's, OFAH Angler awards, OFC's team event. Your app is same old thing just on a different delivery media, but becomes almost too vague if applied to a global setting.
  20. Fine looking dog. I'll second what BrianB said. Lifetime pal. In this heat, its good to get them swimming , even if just to cool off. Both my dogs love water, but like to stay close by, unless they are herding fish
  21. $.99 bungee clip to my belt loop works just fine.
  22. I thought we only rented the stuff
  23. Breaded and deep fried with some tzatziki sauce will change your mind.
  24. As I got my self involved in specialty cropping at my good friend's greenhouse. Here's what we focus on. Tomatoes. 3 varieties of beefsteak. 4 varieties of cluster/vine. 10 varieties of miniatures. For the "Klompers" out there Snijbonin My garlic was picked much earlier. Here are my salsa jalapenos. Currants are done and the elderberry are a long way from ready. It sure keeps us busy.
  25. One handicapped individual confronting 8 or so ethnic adults has too much potential for a nasty outcome. The bycycle cops rode by without any concern.
