  1. Probably have an environmental fee stuck in the price because they're lead. Kerry
  2. Meegs! thanks for the pic.Awesome appreciate it.Looks like something walleyes would love too.Steve between 1.6 to 1.9 miles per hour works great on Simcoe with a williams wobbler too.I run a homemade scratcher made from coat hanger on my ball and run a release clip about 1 1/2 ft above the ball with a lead of 6-10ft behind the ball. Kerry
  3. Hey meegs, you gotta pic of one or anybody sell them near Orillia.Trombly's doesn't have them. Thanks Kerry
  4. Hey Steve, any chance of posting a pic of the peanut setup or what they look like.I want to try it on Simcoe.Do those two guys ever look like they're working?Great pics. Kerry
  5. If the water levels are still high there you won't get your boat trailer in the little sippy hole but otherwise you should be ok and usually someone tosses a couple of skids along one side to make it a little easier to get in your boat from shore.Just beware of a couple of rocks that will be harder to see right at shore especially if the wind is blowing in. Kerry
  6. Ovetchkin's name must come up during play by play around a hundred times a game.He gets my vote for being in the thick of things most of time he's on the ice. Kerry
  7. Not sure of the truth of the statement but the marina/s on the left side north of the narrows bridge have always claimed no fishing past a certain point. We would go past it and fish in on the back side and never seemed to be bothered in there as there are a couple of houses fronting along there so they probably can't claim it's all theirs'.If you go a little further you are at the mouth of the couchiching canal at one end.Usually lots of perch hanging near that area. Kerry
  8. No problem! IF you pass Trombly's on hwy12 heading towards the narrows take a right at the Gill St lights and follow down to the Lankin Blvd canal on Simcoe. You can fish all along the one side of the canal. From there you can carry on towards the narrows and fish the canals on couchiching point at the Best Western turn off.Take a left at the lights and a right at Broadview Ave and the next two rights(mooney cres and dale dr)will get you to either side of the canal there. Pay attention to parking as they will ticket. Both canals have excellent fishing for perch and have coughed up tagged perch in the past.We were getting them up to 10inches this past weekend. You can also fish in behind the WildWings mall off the trail that ends at the narrows. To park there get your minnows at the Hook and Bow and they may let you park for free. You can walk in a short distance right behind their location. Also there are perch being caught at the town dock in Orillia at the end of the main street(Mississauga Street) Happy Perchin' Kerry
  9. Sorry jj but both Mara and Mcrae parks aren't open for use at this time. They don't open till Victoria Day weekend. If you are using a canoe or a tin tippy off a truck you could easily put in at the little parkette and ball diamond on Creighton St about an eight of a mile past the Drive thru Tim Horton's at the narrows. There is a parking lot and beach just no launch. That'll get you directly out where most are fishing without too much fuss. Kerry
  10. If you are really interested in a product from Eagle/Lowrance or Humminbird you might find going to the companies websites and checking up on their Legacy lines (ie discontinued) might be of interest before purchasing a unit.Especially if it's a combined graph/gps plotter. Kerry
  11. I bought one as well this spring hoping for shoal trolled lakers on Simcoe next month. The one I got was the BigJon sideliner reverasable. So what I was going to do was use a second release clip off the rear swivel on the board still running the line thru the swivel as backup and have that clip tight and the front release clip set for a hit.The front clip releases, board moves behind the boat signifying a hit or fish on either way , the rear clip holds the board in place till I reel it up and remove.By doing that I'm not chasing a floating board and it is well away from the leader connection and fish. How does that sound for a set up. Kerry
  12. As Calender Don mentioned DON'T remove the star screw. It holds the shift dog in place inside the housing. Can be a real pain if it doesn't line up and a pain if you have to go into the housing to center it. Kerry
  13. Tie off your buckets from the front cleats or rail if you have one about 4ft or so.That way you'll never get a line or rope caught in your prop.Plus it will be far enough away for netting a fish. Kerry
  14. He'd be wise to get the O ring for the top of the drive shaft as well seeing as the bottom end is coming off for the water pump and that O ring has to come off to replace it anyway. Kerry
  15. I use Esso semi synthetic in my old 72 50 evinrude and mix it probably between 50 and 55 to 1,third year on the same plugs. On my 9.9 kicker I'll run it at 60 to 1 and could probably go higher as I don't run it full throttle.I also run premium gas only. Kerry
  16. What's this gonna do to the service industry? Kerry
  17. Ron, ice fishing for pan fish only would be awesome.Still creates a problem for enforcement if the MNR doesn't get more CO's in the field.Very in depth survey and it was good to be able to participate.Would be nice to be able to fish for Musky & Bass into Dec too on Balsam. Kerry
  18. Because at one time you didn't need #s on your boat if it was under 10hp.Hence 9.9.Not so sure if that applies nowadays. I'd say 700 OBO.It's early in the season you'll get bites. Kerry
  19. Couldn't have said it better! Tubes rule. Kerry
  20. Did you guys launch off the beach or at the marina.I'll have to put a bug in my buddy's ear.He says if he doesn't use the boat this year he's gonna sell it.I got great memories of my first brownie plus kings, big carp and sheepshead from there. Kerry
  21. You might try a local tackle shop.I bought a replacement cover for mine here at Trombly's last season. They had both a hard cover and the soft cover at the time.Thjink it was about 8 bucks. Kerry
  22. I give up on the Orillia store.Went up tonight for the H of it and what they had was repackaged. One net, a couple of fishfinders, and some small packages of micro ice baits.Good deal on the garmin map76 tho.OH well guess I'll wait for Trombly's spring sale.Shouldn't be long. Kerry
  23. At least with my cell I can delete the message soon as it starts.Wish the heck I could do that on my home phone.Call display is the way to go. Kerry
  24. Seeing as the other thread was locked.Kemper had asked about the numbers that run up the ganny.I'm pretty sure at one time I read there were as many as 20,000 salmon running it in a season back when it was popular to enhance a fishery. Not really sure what the numbers would be for rainbows but I remember catching way more rainbows than salmon off that pier. Kerry
  25. Nice job on the video and chorus iceguy. That makes a lasting memory! Kerry
