  1. Ha a good reason to go barbless! lucky it was a smallish hook you guys use down there instead of the monster size we need to catch the really big ones residing in our cool crisp water!
  2. Hey Pike er may we call you Pike? there are a few more here from the area and will be glad to hear your stories.
  3. Happy birthday Chris but why are you training in NY? There's no highways there!
  4. Wow that is great news for the credit! I can't help to feel sad that the once thriving cooksville creek just a short distance east of the credit remains dead since the 70's
  5. Responsible smokers Bill?
  6. I am beginning to think that the LCBO deposit charge should be extended. From seeing the thousands +++ of cigarette butts littered all over the place including highway off ramps I am starting to think that an environmental fee should be slapped on the ass of smokers too.
  7. Thanks Roy I appreciate the link.
  8. It would also be great to hear how Jim is doing but I don't think a single thing has been posted.
  9. A great catch Sharper but where did you catch it?
  10. First line of action is to file a complaint with city council and get others to do the same it may seem useless but if the city did send a bylaw officer down there and lay charges then the message would spread quickly enough. Even if they say that it's too costly to clean up the mess they know it costs much more when the river flushes it over a wide area.
  11. Hey he makes great hammers too!
  12. I was thinking about this and a nice carbon fiber case will also be made, I will also work on the mold for it during the white days.
  13. Cooked to perfection, would go great with my char broiled rib eye. What sauce are you using Burtess?
  14. Ok it's a bit funny but I say more power to Eva! And keep up the good work guys and gal, let's see a repeat for next season.
  15. So let me get this straight Steve, A girl single handedly layed a major whooping on the majority of the teams?
  16. Well i don't know what all the fuss is aboot you can weld some skis to the boat and get a blower working and you nave a 4 season fishin machine.
  17. I do many per year and know that the best time to shear cedars is after a rain when they are wet. Anytime within a few weeks before a killing frost in fall is fine as long as they are not butchered and left with little green. The guideline is to never prune more than 20% at one time or per calendar year for the health of the plant and the same goes for trees. Upkeep depends on the property line and they do not have to maintain the hedge on your side unless there is a bylaw concerning height restrictions or the plant is a potential hazard.
  18. The thought of being out alone and out of reach of cell reception makes me consider the spot system, worth the cost? you decide. http://www.findmespot.ca/en/
  19. Hey Reel, let's hold back on the issue until there's at least two feet of snow on the ground!
  20. Sure this will be a great winter project and anything from a basic case to a really nice one can be made.Even custom storage stands. I have to dig up the plans and convert to CAD either that or start a custom drawing from scratch.
  21. A really great report and terrific pics UF! Glad your trip was a real success.
  22. The US oil reserves are in good shape however with reduced industrial output, tightened consumer spending and the acknowledgment of a long recession I cannot see oil returning to higher levels and I suspect the new president will not tolerate the threat of higher prices threatening the weak economy either. Even with a very cold winter I think oil reserves will be used as a buffer. Concerning stocks there is some very bad news forthcoming again.
  23. I's a simple case that opens full length but only stores rods. I guess ends could be modified for reels but are you an experienced woodworker?
  24. Looks like fun! I have to visit the area one of these days.
