St Mary's river seems to be doing fine but overall it's a bad year and I bet next year could be worse. Take a look at the environmental conditions a few years ago when the fish were just starting out and you may find some answers.
Ahhh such beautiful fish, if they only came out of a cool crisp mountain stream...
And the pics turned out great Mike, they speak the language of love am I right?
The ones I caught years ago by the old lakeview generating station were fun to catch and were the only fish biting but when I cleaned one a greyish mustardy puss flowed out and holy !!! was that ever an awful smell!
I was at JB's yesterday, they are waiting for the new Shimano's to come in so I could not get the musky rod I wanted. Still this is the Musky store you should go to if in the Toronto area.
The 2009 Curado's are more refined than this years version and lighter but the important part is picking the reel that will give you consistent casts and control so don't buy a cheap version and trade up buy the one that works.
I am contemplating some custom rods thanks for the idea. So far I have picked up a bunch of Compre's from 5 ft UL to 7 ft M and hopefully the Musky rods will be in stock soon. Have an eye on some nice Crucial BC and today found some St Croix rods at a decent price. So... it looks like I am really getting a nice colection.
