  1. As are many ingredients in our processed food nowadays. Poisons that are banned in N America are still used in China and imported and accepted here thanks to our lousy food inspection agency. Farmed fish in China have levels of banned poisons in them too.
  2. Where did you shop Pete?
  3. We are looking at the full spectrum of fish from Crappie to Muskie spinning and casting setups I know that the Muskie rods will be Crucials matched with Calcutta TE 401 reels. I am on the fence whether the spinning and bass casting rods will be Crucials as well Spinners, jigs, plugs, topwater etc looks like the plan is to be flexible.
  4. Cool post Dan! Looks like a really nice track and ya have to love the Canadian flag pic haha. How much would that motor home cost for the trip?
  5. http://www.seaeagle.com/
  6. Also keep in mind that made in USA does not necessarily mean made as the parts could come from overseas and only assembled in the USA. It has only been what 20-30 years since the only durable products from China were crude cast iron parts and look how fast technology has progressed. India is now beginning to produce fair cast iron castings so what's next? Woods used to be a Canadian made product and now my dining tent is made in Bangladesh!
  7. I have done some research on inflatables and will avoid the cheap ones yet there are some really nice ones for a grand with a 3+ year warranty. Keep in mind that the inside dimensions are restricted so that 6 footer would hardly give you any room at all.
  8. Why is Christmas canceled this season?
  9. Yes John besides a few million cars, Auto + one product
  10. Of course I am planing on saving the bucks but quality comes first. I also like a crisp sensitive rod with the exception perhaps being trolling rods where I have been used to fiberglass.
  11. Nice! love the cutthroat and the sturgeon. If you use the search function for Toronto or Toronto Island you will pull up a lot of posts for pike and bass here are a few http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...=toronto+island http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...=toronto+island http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...=toronto+island
  12. What no sturgeon pics? Come on now. Oh and halibut
  13. OK I am making my list and checking it twice cause you know what is gonna hit us in a few short months! What's your favorite action rods from ultralight to musky what about actions fast, extra fast, rod length, graphite composition preference, and whatever else one should consider! I am going to town with the purchase of new rods spinning, casting, downriger and musky for 2009 so let's talk rods!
  14. Awww geeze do I have to watch it? And BTW it's 700 Billion short term, when all is said and done the bill will exceed 4 trillion
  15. Let's continue on... why bigger fish and why not use swimbaits right from the start? but seriously why would a swimbait do the trick is it technique or something new that the fish have not seen before?
  16. Bury your money under a tree? when the dollar deflates to half it's present value you can buy a half a tree to retire under! Energy is solid only during a robust economy. when you loose your job and can't make ends meet what would you cut first from your budget?
  17. But a buck knife with a quality steel blade that stays sharp when you need it will impress the Does!
  18. Tell ya what JGMLS how about letting Dion decide for himself what he want's to do.
  19. Japan quality has improved but they priced themselves out of the market, how many products can you find here from Japan nowadays?
  20. Hi Dion which areas of Toronto are you going to be in and what species are you interested in?
  21. Right now the banks and holding companies that are in trouble are overwhelmed with assets which no one wants to buy and Bush keeps pushing to buy the trash no one wants to buy so right now we are seeing a rule that cash is king.
  22. Absolutely love the pics TroutSlayer but more importantly did you bring any spec samples home to share? Huh? Huh? did ya?
  23. Either way unemployment will suffer, there are more companies that will go belly up soon and the US auto industry will be crying for a bailout package. GM is sinking deeper and will make headlines again. Congress cannot spend their way out of this mess allowing the US dollar to deflate even more causing the world to shun the currency - that will really hurt employment.
