Oh .. and by the way ... tickets are only $15 to come and watch me play FOR the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni team ... January 28th at the Powerade Centre in Brampton ... unless of course we get 'locked out' ... I mean ... after all ... I only paid $2600 for the priviledge of playing with them (if you dont include the cost of the NEOVISC and cortisone shots ) BTW Wayne ... I got one reserved for You and Jenn if she's interested -

OK ... I suggest we poll ALL the juniors (and the players)...NOT the UNION ... and ask them if they wanna play Hockey for a living ... get their shot at fame and fortune ... play for 5 years (with an option for another 5 if they perform) ... ask them if they could live on a million a year plus expenses (plus endorsements) .... first/best 1000 to sign up get in ... best 500 get to play ... other 500 play for 50% in the minors ... best 50 performers get 2 Million, next best 250 get 1.5 million ... lowest 10 percent get bumped down to the minors to give the next crop a chance ... stop screwing around and get on the ice ... or get to the back of the line - or go do something else for a living - so the other 1,000,000 hopefuls get their shot. Let's face it .. the guys who finally 'make it' ARE getting THEIR dreams fulfilled ... and a very lucrative (if short) career ... they're not doing it for us or for the owners ... come on - these guys come and they go ... and we always take whoever comes along next (and have been for generations) On the flip-side its up to the owners to figure out how to make that financially sustainable ... its NOT a partnership ... its not a negotiation ... and if some of the players have become THAT rich that they can afford to buy a team (or shares in a Team) and are prepared to take the RISK (by the way it would be interesting to ask the few players who have done so whether it was a such great investment) - ONLY THEN would they have the right to their share of the profits (or Losses) ... getting to play is an opportunity at fame and fortune for a very fortunate few... and I'll bet ya most would do it just for the fame if thats all there was on the table IMHO it's time for everyone to get off their high-horse and get back to reality. GO LEAFS !!!!! (or should I say .. COME BACK LEAFS !!!) -
Just goes to show ya ... Length isnt everything !!!! Nice fat girl !

Wow ... it still brings a tear to my eye Moose .. thanks for the memories !

Could very well be the tank valve... I had one of those 'swap-em' ones this summer that wouldn't shut off at the tank at all after a couple of uses (seemed to work fine on our 'fire-table' so we used it up (pretty quickly) and 'swapped' it out ... of course I let them know at the station that the tank was faulty so they could take it out of commission. But I dont think the thing was more than a couple years old.

Nice job fellas ... Lloyd sure knows his stuff ! I am having the folks at the Cove make me exactly that set-up for the nasty days ... hopefully wont need to use it too much though Bring on the ice !!!1

Thanks for all the feedback. Keep it coming - especially if you have any experience with any of the 'wireless' options. My tether came 'stock' with the boat ... 197 with Yammy 150 ... but the tether is only about 10" long and totally dangerous imho considering I am MOSTLY standing with one hand on the the throttle and one hand on the wheel at all times ... if I inadvertantly killed the engine by reaching for something I think it would be worse (but obviously I am still rationalizing or I wouldn't have brought it up here) ... I am going ask my fellas at the Marina where I bought the boat what the Standard Operating procedure is for my boat (which was designed to for 'big water')... personally I kinda like the submersion technology to avoid false engine kills. In the video I saw with the nasty accident, the guy didnt go overboard but was bashed around pretty badly... and because my boat will stay pretty much at the RPM you set it - it could be just as dangerous to others as to myself if I was knocked down/out... of course because I am an old fart and don't get my jollies doing any 'silly' driving I am rarely bouncing around too much... but ya know ...there is a reason they call em 'accidents'

I look at it often ... and wonder if I could find a way to use it without expletives ... well ... as result of this little poll I did a google and found two options ... have any of y'all seen em or used em ? 1) Virtual Lifeline “wireless lanyard” - Submersion based wireless tether and 2) Autotether "wireless tether" - Proximity based wireless tether Jeeze .. I may actually have found something to give the Mrs to put on my Christmas list !

Not sure if this Poll has been done before ... but a video I just watched about a pretty scary accident which happened when the driver was tossed made me wonder ... 1) Do you wear your Kill switch safety tether a) Never Sometimes c) Always 2) Explain I gotta be honest ... I have struggled with this ... especially with need to dash to the back of the boat to deal with stuff (rods, Downriggers, netting fish etc)... it's something though I'd like to hear about from others ... and if there is some 'workable' compromises .. eg. just hook up for running etc.

Deeply sorry for your loss Paul. -
Some say corn is a go-to in the conservation areas ... under a float in still open water ... it can definitely also be useful in the right conditions in a river ... specially slow deep pools ... I have watched many fish come up take a sniff and then inhale .... while 'flossing' is probably an unfortunate outcome in the faster runs, it is not normally the case is a slowly drifted bait a foot or two off bottom. Just my humble opinion (from many years of first hand - and visually confirmed - experience).

sometimes they are off all day except for the 'witching hour' ... then every fish in the lake eats for about 25 minutes ... then back to lolly-gagging around laughing at your presentations
-
I thikn you have it covered ... although when the fishing gets really tough .... try speeding up a wee bit and turn hard (had some great days when the rest of the gang got skunked ... givin' her a little more 'essence' on the zig-zag

I took a big Pike head from the '60s (it was pretty badly beaten up) ... but it was a memento from before my Dad passed away so I wanted it done .... took it over to the good folks at 'Advanced' ... I can't say enough about what a great restoration they did !
