  1. I'm not lending stuff out anymore. When Andrew returned the boat he had replaced the crap front seat with a brand new swivel seat, not necessary but thanks man, good people here on OFC.
  2. Screw the fly and float fishing, just rube it up with a Mister Twister Tail.
  3. Damn, I'm jealous, I love those freedom flexible, whatever way the wind blows, kind of road (not fishing)trips.
  4. My Haliburton lake was 74 degrees Saturday. We found lakers in 65 to 75 FOW. I would jig Huzz, and hope the winds are light so you can stay vertical. Heavier spoons like a Cleo or Cyclops will help you stay vertical. If live bait is allowed, a minnow off a bottom bouncer or 3 way rig could be deadly.
  5. It's a disgusting and very sad story and Tim isn't coming back, but good job by the investigators, the crown and the jury. I guess all I hope for is that the Bosma family can somehow heal and be happy.
  6. Another option is to start in the evening and fish until mid night, cranks. I bet you get a few.
  7. Dumb video with the cinder blocks being dropped. Aluminum with a drop in bed liner is the way to go. Sounds like you need a vehicle ASAP, but if you could get by somehow until the late fall, the remaining 2016's get price slashed when the 2017's are out.
  8. Another great trip for you guys at Wabakimi. I hope to fish that lake someday. Just curious, how do you get to Armstrong from Colorado?
  9. I'm going to buy that as a gag gift for somebody, that's beyond ridiculous, I felt embarrassed watching Mercer plug that thing
  10. Well we could have used you up there Bri for some fly fishing expertise.
  11. Sounds like some good father/ son time and great fishing. You just boil the pike filet, any seasoning?
  12. I spent a week there. There's some well known spots, Pickerel Point, where Edgar Creek dumps in, there's a rock pile marked with a buoy and the deep hole just south of the lodge. We did well for pike in the bays in the north end. The lake is very shallow and takes some getting used to.
  13. fak you you son of oh sorry, it's you Ricky
  14. some guys talk crap, some guys do crap
  15. Hash tag this, Brock, Kewley, Dempsey and Misiak. Trident is a widening of the Esnagami River which is known as a brook trout hot spot. This trip was a bit different because we were on assignment for Mike Borger's publication, Canada Fishing Guide. I was going to handle the online report and Adam was slated to write the print feature. We all jumped at the chance! I know Mike himself hasn't been on here in months due to too much negative feedback and honestly I don't blame the guy. He's given a lot to this board over the years and I get where he's coming from. Only the people close to him know how much effort he's putting into this passion of his. We're friends, I know him, and up yours to the jealous guys sitting on the couch typing crap. Anyhow I put together a pretty extensive report (for me) that's now up on the CFG site. Have a look, it's pretty cool especially if you're into brook trout! http://www.canadafishingguide.net/trident-lake-outpost-a-brook-trout-bonanza/
  16. I'm with Terry. Gangsters will get guns and shoot each other, so be it.These guys are nerd weirdos with easy access to semi autos with big clips, god bless Canada
  17. Keep the photos coming man, look'n great!
  18. I weigh esox in the cradle and then subtract the weight of the wet cradle (about 2.5 lbs), you likely didn't have a cradle walleye fishing, I'd guess around 20 too, regardless a beauty ski
  19. Beauty Dutch! I think any of the muskie guys would be super happy with a chunky 42.
  20. I think we have too many stupid laws, but maybe the drivers cell phone has to be in the glove box when the vehicle is moving, bluetooth still works, passengers can text on their phones, driver can grab it in an emergency, cops can see drivers leaning over to put it in the glove box when pulled over put your phone in the glove box, put on your seat belt, start the car and go
  21. What a beast! Your smile says it all. Congrats!
  22. Martison sounds cool, I bet you'll get some good pike, you probably know this already but it's super shallow (you can leave some stuff from the tackle box at home) You guys going in Friday or Saturday?
  23. Happy belated 40th Bunk! 40 is kind of an ugly number when you're 38 or 39, I thought anyway. Cool old canoe and nice new boat. You're still living the dream as I can see from all the other pictures and stories.
  24. paper plates, baby wipes, a water filter pump, head light. ear plugs, hand sanitizer, mosquito coils, pliers and spreaders What lake are you going to?
  25. Maybe they have Berkley Lightning Rods
