  1. First ballot Hall of Famer or there's no justice in this world.
  2. What's worse is that the local authorities have apparently admitted that there was enough tax money in the accounts to pay for emergency services, but they made people pay extra anyway.
  3. I would suppose that the reason for their legal ability to confiscate vehicles is because, if it was used to transport the people, their equipment, and any illegally caught fish or game, the vehicle is then material evidence in a crime. That's why I couldn't understand why the government had to pass a law a few years ago to allow for the vehicles to be impounded in cases of impaired driving, it should have been automatic in my opinion. But I'm not a lawyer, maybe I'm missing something.
  4. Lotsa fun! I've always like the Bill Dance bloopers.
  5. Nice looking fish and a good size, an unbeatable combo! Didn't anyone ever tell you that smoking will stunt your growth? (It stunted mine but I won't tell you where... )
  6. Rubber baby buggy bumpers.
  7. Just found this after replying to your PM, so here's some more info. I have only caught three species there, rock bass, perch, and smallmouth. Some of the other lakes in the area have other species, there is a handout at the store at the entrance which detail what is where and which lakes are closed to fishing. French River PP I haven't been to, can't help there.
  8. It's called 'one party consent', and if you are doing the recording you are considered the party. I don't know how the hell you can record someone without your own permission for you to do so, but I guess coming up with such terminology keeps lawyers in business.
  9. Okay, it's been added to the list!
  10. You know me that well, do you? Fail. But you're correct, this is a fishing forum, let's try to leave politics out of it unless called for. I was merely trying to point out to ColdH2Oguy why I care.
  11. From the BBC And read this for more information about China.
  12. Perhaps you would like to set me straight? I made specific statements, you could at least provide specific rebuttals.
  13. That is one cute kid, great pic! And I'm thinking that the bird is a sharp-shinned hawk, if it was small then it would have been a male. The tail is too squared off for a peregrine. They also have longer legs and that one appears to be sitting higher on that perch than a falcon would:
  14. They're on my list at this post. Check it out for lots of Canadian manufacturers. I didn't know we had so many!
  15. Just added a few canoe manufacturers, let me know if there's others.
  16. You're posing financial questions to a guy who couldn't balance a checkbook to save his life. I am generally against such things, but if there is some sort of guarantee that the investment is returned (pretty hard to do) then I wouldn't object.
  17. So, let me see if I've got this straight - Richard Peddie, President and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, is accusing the Toronto Mayoral candidates of having no vision. Riiiight... Mr. Pot, meet Mr. Kettle. How's that Stanley Cup plan coming along Richard?
  18. Do fish feel pain? Well they certainly feel something, otherwise they wouldn't react. If they didn't react and attempt to escape evolution would eventually weed them out, as would happen to any animal that had no survival instinct. But is it pain in the same sense that we feel? Uncertain, but even if it is there is one thing that we can be sure of - they do not feel the emotional anguish that we feel. Their brains are simply not capable of thought, self-awareness, or emotion. We fear pain as a sign that something is wrong, possibly fatal, and we only understand the meaning of 'fatal' because we are capable of complex communication. We have learned and taught each other, since our ancestors first learned to speak, that death is something from which we do not return (with the exception of certain religious beliefs). Such knowledge reinforces the fear of pain that we feel. Fish can never feel that emotional component, they are strictly reactive.
  19. It's a smallmouth, they always fight above their weight!
  20. As long as he realises that it isn't just for breakfast anymore!
  21. This was what greeted me at the bay on one morning this spring:
  22. Obviously enough genetic mutation to affect development, but not enough to weed it out of the gene pool. Interesting.
  23. I would do a web search for "solomon gundy recipes". As far as which fish work best, well, we all have different tastes, just try whatever you have. If you don't like the result yourself try it on your neighbour, he may love it!
