yea man, thats a rough road. i have travelled it many a time. i drove my 88 jeep cherokee right into a HOLE on that road. it gets washed out pretty bad after serious storms. i remember driving through numerous tropical storms late at night on that road also...

i use giant red bobbers a huge worm hook and10 year old 30 lb mono on my snoopy rod. tipped with a nice red wiggler. it has yet to have failed me! nothing like bobber fishing lake ontario for some salmons.

one time , many years ago, i was cornered by one of these snakes, i jumped over it and it nearly bit me in my " bull frog"

i can't wait to fish for some fall rainbows. i've never done it before so i'm really looking forward to it...hopefully i can partner up with someone for a day so i can learn how to get a couple. i've been doing some reading, but hookin up with an OFC'r would be a tonne better. do u use light tackle for them?

i've never ran mono on baitcasters. there is too much line memory so your line gets all twisted. i run 30-100lb braid, with a mono backing, as do most on this board i think. never had a problem, and absolutely no line memory. plus, when it rarely happens, its always easy to get a birrds nest out without worrying about abrasions in the line afterwards.
