nice fish GCD those bull gills and large strawberry bass can put up a nice fight on light tackle. that surface temp was really warm.. did u manage to find those fish a little deeper or in some heavy cover?

yea i'm new to wading, but i use a pole and wear a lifejacket just to be careful. it looks like it could be a fun time out there...

anyone ever fish this area? near the birdge overpass? it looks shallow like caledonia, i was going to wade in it. its it little more rapidy, i was hoping for some smallies or something any help? e

sweet man. sounds like you are hooked! i know alot of people on here suffer from DAD and only dream of fishing 7 days a week. for crappie i definetly recomend fishing arond alot of structure. especially docks, dead falls, stumps rocks , weedbeds etc use micro tubes in bright colors like pink or blue or white.. slated ones work very well.. try that to start, and hopefully u get into some slabs BH

personally, i wouldn't. there are so many boats readily available i would avoid this at all costs. even if the guy is legit, boats aren't cheap and i can't afford to get scammed. i'd search closer to ontario if not somewhere in canada atleast just MO

i'm sure he was just doing his job. but cops always seem like control freaks. it would have been interesting if u had a fish, to see whether or not he actually knew what he was doing.

naaaaaaahhhh just give the mud cat a nice scratch behind the ear and she'll purr like a kitten. my bait of choice is catnip, or tender vittles. catfish aren't slimey so its not a big deal, i hate pickin up slimey pike or salmon when their scales fall off all over you. PITA

my dad has a diawa mini spin from probably 40 years ago. it stilll works great for him. he took it to california for golden trout hiking on the john muir trail/ i had a quantum travel set, the tip broke bbut the rest was awesome. okuma is supposed to have a good one aswell.. i would also go multipiece. not telescopic

hi, welcome to the board and to fishing! if u wanna get into some carp or catfish i recomend tossing out some chicken livers, or globs of worms on a big hook with a big weight on her too. u'll catch somethign that way for sure.. you could also try lures, anyhthing really..
