  1. I'm wondering if the lack of responses is due to others having trouble with those species on Sparrow as well. I have to admit, I've only been able to catch walleye at the river mouth in the springtime while during the rest of the year...nada. So I've always just gone after bass at this time of year. Sorry to have been of no help, but consider this another 'bump.'
  2. LOL No worries, Lew. I never took it that way.
  3. When I was a young fella, growing up in Hamilton, a port city, I had no conncetion to the water. As kids, we had very limited access to the harbour. It was just steel mills and rail yards. Today, hundreds( maybe thousands )of people of all ages walk, bike and rollerblade along the waterfront trails and fish the waters, everyday. Even without a boat, there is so much fishable water for any species you care to target. Guys who put in their time, do well with bass( large and smallmouth ), pike in the spring and even steelhead and salmon come fall. Not to mention, the multi species fishery come winter when ice sets in. No, I definately wouldn't put it on my bucket list if I were you either Lew 'cuz you now live in God's country fer sure! But for those of us in and around the Hammer, it's a great place to enjoy in a lot of different ways.
  4. Man, that thing is a Dart in name only. Hate when auto manufacturers do that! Anyone remember the rebirth of the Cougar? YUCK! If you do it, do it like the Challenger or Mustang. Two sweet rides there.
  5. Wow, that looks like a trip EVERYONE will remember! Those are some darn nice perchies!
  6. Some of my favourite trout fishing trips include a nice plate of pan fried trout at day's end. Salt, pepper and dusted in flower, then fried 'til golden brown in butter. Don't get any easier or tastier.
  7. Dover is a good choice whether the fish are biting or not. Just make sure your little fella has his swim trunks and you can always pack it up if the fishin' is slow and go for a swim!
  8. Sure is purdy, Lorne! Isn't it amazing how goldfish were able to adapt to their environment. They're in so many water bodies, yet the average person seldom catches even a glimps of their golden little selves, if at all. Lures and live bait pass by these little jewels everyday without even anglers aware of their presence, since incedental catches are so few.
  9. Pretty easy for me. It was without doubt my favourite. Certainly the most entertaining and the strongest cast, I think. And I agree, I could do without that crazy voice on Batman.
  10. I've seen it twice so far and will probably catch it one more time before it leaves the theaters( which doesn't look like it will be anytime soon ). A great flick to be sure and even greater if you're a comic geek like me. The cast was tremendous and the brilliant acting really enhanced the total movie experience!
  11. You're kidding right???
  12. I always keep a mouse trap loaded in my house. I like to be pro-active and catch 'em before I even know I have 'em!
  13. Apparently apples!
  14. I've taken my vehicles to Krown for years now. Very happy with the results. I always got great re-sale prices when I sold my cars because their bodies were in such great shape.
  15. Nice to have a creek close to ya with some good rod benders in it! That's a beauty carp, Bob.
  16. Hey Wantabigone, I'm wondering if you've tried using the famous 'hair rig' for carp. It's a staple for many situations. Look it up on-line. It's pretty simple to tie and might help you with your hook up percentage.
  17. Yikes, thank you for that heads-up Grimmace!
  18. Wow, I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said. Just amazing photos, Mike! And that wasn't only therapy for you.
  19. Great report on a great day of flyfishing, Stephen. Those are really neat photos of the fish and tackle too.
  20. That video on Basa is presented by by American catfish farmers( click link below video ). So it's presented with an adjenda. I'm not saying the claims in the video aren't all true, but I just know it's was presented by a competing industry.
  21. I find it funny that a station manager or network manager decides that a disclaimer is required because of the graphic nature of hunting. Meanwhile, this concern for what a child sees or hears DOESN'T extend to prime tv shows like Two And A Half men, etc., with some pretty adult situations and rude dialogue.
  22. Ya, but now he has to pay them AND you( for two weeks anyway )!
  23. By all accounts, a tough day of fishing. But you guys got into a few more than most so congratz to all. Just looked like cool way to spend the day, greasy diner for breakfast and all!
  24. Hey, now everyone has a great excuse for their better half! "But I gotta go fishin'. It's for a sick friend!" Get well soon!
  25. That is a really nice looking fish out of some nice looking water there, Mike. Sounds like the day was a blast!
