I think its amazing to watch.....really impressive stuff.

Unless you're fishing in slop, there's nothing a rubber frog will do that a popper, jitterbug, or spook-style bait won't do much better.
-
i think its hype by the antivirus companies -- i re-upped for mcafee last night. :-S

I love the scott tenorman must die episode....here's a link to some really good South Park scenes. http://tv.msn.com/controversial-south-park-episodes/

cast high....when it hits the water, let it sit for awhile....until the ripples disappear. Then start your retrieve....if a popper, erratically pop and stop it. If a jitterbug....more methodical, but don't be afraid to jerk it across the top of the water so it skitters. I find being erratic is a good thing. Lots of stops though...and even little twitches. Don't be afraid of throwing topwaters when there are waves. You'll find the fish are actually more active when there are waves...less light penetration (ever snorkel when there are waves....see waaay less). Morning and evenings are far better for me with topwaters though.

How big was that laketrout????? Holy crap!! Tonyb -- those are huge bass. Good for you guys.

I think fish DO get stressed in a livewell. Just because its done by the pros on tv doesn't make it right. You stress a fish and it will still swim away BUT could is more prone to infection later. I don't like bass tournaments....but at the same time, they do more good than harm (lots of $$ generated for the sport, raising awareness, etc). For the most part i'm sure everyone here is a conservationist first and there is no ill intent. We're also (for the most part) experienced enough to know that old/big bass taste like crap (relative to th smaller ones) so i doubt the fish are being slaughtered.....more likley just pics, at the cost of a little extra stress to the fish.

i don't like keeping fish (that you plan to release) in the livewell either. I'm sure it stresses the fish.....they may swim away later, but i'm sure many don't survive. That said, i don't think anyone who does this is a bad guy...its within the rules.

I'm not an activist -- in fact, know very little about this stuff....so just a layperson's question -- do the fish freak out with those things on? Do they work themselves against the bottom or whatever to try to get htem off? Sorry if an ignorant question -- just genuinely had not seen/heard of it before.

btw - i don't know anyone who has tried it and NOT liked it. I would bet that almost all kayaks for sale are by sellers looking to upgrade....not people just trying to sell something that doesn't get used. btw2 - whatever happens, do NOT buy a tandem. They are painful.
-
Before buying it might be good to drop by a paddleshack or similar kayak/canoe store and try sitting in different models to get a feel for what's best. We have a couple of different models and i can tell you that while they look very similar (esp to a layperson like me) the feel is vastly different. Ironically the cheapest one we have is also my favourite....its a bit wider and more stable, whereas our other one is a faster boat....but far less fun, esp. for fishing. Also, i tried fishing from a sit-on-top last week.....it was much easier than my sit-in kayak. Didn't get enough use out of it to comment on pros and cons overall (feel like its probably not as fast/easy to paddle as my sit-in) but first impression is a sit-on-top might be better for a fishing boat.

if you're fishing for toothy fish, get the leader. Its very different from the line...has a sheath on it or something.

Lots of companies hire pretty booth bunnies....they have someone from the company there to be an expert with credibility, and booth bunnies are there to smile, shake hands, and engage the passerbys....
-
Was surfing the boats-for-sale section of craigslist and came across this post. Looks like a US company looking for someone(s) to man their booth at the sportsman show. Specifically asked for fisherman/women (instead of booth bunnies). No idea if they're legit or not (i don't know the company at all), but thought i'd post the craigslist link here in case any of you young guys/girls are looking to make some extra dough. It says $13 an hour (cash)...no idea if negotiable. http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/boa/1064530551.html

And, expect the US dollar to drop substantially in the future. Prices are deflating right now, but the US is in for big time inflation....which means their dollar should drop against ours.
-
The US is in real trouble. Unfortunately for those who were smart and responsible with their home purchases, the irresponsible buyers are going to have to be bailed out. Europe is in worst shape. They don't have the same sub-prime borrowing issues but their banking systems in general are more highly leveraged than the US... Be thankful that most of us live in Canada. Our banks are the best in the world. A massive portion of our economy depends on th US though.

Beagles love to go for their own personal tours :-). Glad he came back. I was worried he turned into coyote chow. Great looking dog, btw. Its not pure beagle, is it?
-
isn't that someone from this board? He looks really familiar.
-
mcafee I really like kaspersky as well but if you have remnants of norton on your machine (which are really hard to get rid of) its really tough to run.
-
The effort and cost to treat them is likely more than the minnows are worth. You might try them as fertilizer in your garden.
-
I wouldn't. Lots of parasites/viruses survive freezing. In fact, viruses flourish in the cold.

glad to see somebody still gouging in tough times

If people/companies will pay it why shouldn't they raise prices? The place is sold out every game. You can be sure that if the raptors sold out every game they'd raise prices as well.... -
Thank you Franklin Empire Inc......great seats. Much appreciated.

Just returned from the Raptors game that i went to with tickets from the Fishign for Tyler auction. Not sure who donated them, but i wanted to say thank you. They were phenomenal seats. Really, really fantastic. Great game as well.
