My son has an old car sitting in the drive way and it wont turn over even with a boost. I think the battery is shot. Can I hook my boat battery {not the deep cycle} to start the car. This may be a stupid question but I dont want to destroy my boat battery. Thanks

As Ive said earlier Im hopefully moving to the Rideau Lakes in March. I was up there today and checked about 10 lakes that are within minutes from my house. To my great surprise every one has a good ramp which is free. Most of them also have concrete docks . They also post signs asking fishermen not to fish near the Bass spauning grounds in May and early June and to practice catch and release. Another nice touch is most ramps I checked have picnic tables and parks. Now all I have to do is sell my house. LOL

My son has a hut off Goreskys Marina on the west side of the Island. Hes getting some pickeral but only small ones.

Theres a blizzard here in Port Hope. Weve had 4 inches of snow in the last hour.

I lived in Caesarea for 12 years so I like the east side. I always had luck with minnows or jig with a Swedish Pimple. There used to be a bait shop on #7 just east of town. Good luck.

No problem with me Roy but I can see the 401 from my house and it is completly shut down. Thanks for your concern. I have lived here for 14 years and there have been dozens of accidents on that stretch of the 401. I dont know why because its a good section of hyway.

I bought a Black Cat last year and am quite happy with it. A bottle of propane lasts about 8 hours so if you put it in the tent when you go to bed it keeps the chill off till morning. My son also uses it all winter in his ice hut.

I know what you mean. On Saturday I drove north from Port Hope to Maynooth then west through Algonquin Park to Dwight then south through Haliburton . It was a beautiful drive .

Yesterday I took a drive to Algonquin Park to look around. The gas was around 77 cents in Maynooth but the last gas station in Whitney before you enter the park was 93 cents. Talk about price gouging.

The Ganny is pretty much frozen from the bridge south but there are a couple of guys down there this morning with an ice auger.

Ive heard some very good things about Charleston Provincial Park north of Kingston.

I used to repair broken water mains for about 30 years and regardless of the weather we had to be out there. The phone would go off and you would get up in the middle of the night and never give it a second thought no matter what the weather was like outside. Who else ?

What about the people who have to work in this weather let alone driving in it.
