Well I finally moved from Port Hope to Delta, Ontario, a tiny village in the heart of the Rideau lakes. I can see the lake across a meadow from my house and its only 300 meters away with a nice boat ramp. Ill post some pictues of the area as soon as I find out which box I packed the camera in. There are about 10 lakes within 15 minutes of my place and they cover everything from Pike, Pickeral, Bass, Musky and lake trout so that should keep me busy for some time to come. Ive got to go. My wife wants me to start painting. OH GOD!

Now if we could only teach him how to catch Pickeral.

If you really want to quit smoking go to a CHEMO clinic waiting room at your local Cancer hosp. and take a seat for a couple of hours and observe people desperatly trying to catch there breathe and hauling around oxygen bottles while wearing wigs and bandanas.If that doesnt turn you off cigaretts then I guess your destined to join them.

I go to Chippawa Camp Sites 2 or 3 times a year near Cumbermere Ont. It has a beautiful beach and you can rent a canoe.There is a small lake called Green Lake right there and its full of bass and pike. The main lake is Kamaniskeg.

I stayed at Bonnechere PP a few years ago and its a beautiful park. You can rent canoes there and follow the river for miles. Try and request a site on the river. We caught a few bass but the fishing was not that great. Its a very deep lake so maybe jigging is the way to go if your after Pickeral.

thanks guys. Irishfield. Ive already driven to the village of Charelston and it has a beautiful boat launch in a park and the lake is dotted with islands and bays with very few cottages. It looks great.

I started salmon fishing around Port Hope last year and loved it. In a couple of weeks Im moving to the Rideau Lakes north of Kingston. My question is do the salmon run in the eastern extremes of Lake Ontario. The lake basically ends just west of Kingston.

Because I repaired drains and water services for the City of Toronto I met a few. The first that comes to mind is August Schillinberg{star of free Willy and many other movies that required a native to play the role. It was a cold night and I had a crew repairing a leak on his water service . He invited me in I had coffee with him and his wife. He even gave me two autographged pictures of himself and the whale to give to my kids. Another one is Eugene Levy. He had a drain problem and was constantly asking me questions but in a very friendly way mind you his wife was a total carp. Excuse my language.

Years ago I was in the Navy and we were in Helsiki Finland. I was wandering around the city one night and came across a hot dog vender and as I wasnt feeling any pain I ordered a hot dog. The vender heated the dog and put it on the bun and then put a huge scoop of mashed potatoes on top of it. Not to offend the vender I paid him and walked around the corner and gave the potatoes to some dogs. The hot dog was great but they didnt have mustard or relish. Thats my mini rant for today.

I stayed at Lost Lake Lodge a few years ago just outside of Elk Lake and the fishing and lodge were great. There were several lakes in the area that they drive you to and 3 lakes you can portage to from the lodge.

Sheri, you will have to come down to the Rideau lakes this summer and ill take you canoeing for bass. It,s a much slower life style. From what Ive seen nobody drives over 25 Km. an hour no matter what the speed limit is. It,s going to take me a while to slow down to their life style. It will be a great place for you to unwind.

Thats to bad Wayne. I hope your insurance will cover some of your loss.
