  1. 3 fishing/camping trips on Crown land this year and two bear encounters, first one was scared off with pots and pans, second one came into camp 2 times including a 4am nighttime visit. Again scared off! The third time it would not have been so luckey . Yes they are everywhere this year!!! RF
  2. I know a great paving company
  3. Good luck, love the back woods 4x4 adventure's and don't forget the chain saw. Our road washed out 40 km in , (beaver dam broke) a least it meant an extra days fishing. Luckily there was active logging down another road and they were able to redo enough road to get by WE WERE LUCKEY !!! :D Rustic
  4. Nice work Steve, see if Rossi will eat those largies. RY
  5. Here is one of my shore fishing buddies, he is super intense when it comes to fishing lol! Rustic
  6. May be an idea to keep the chief thing to yourself BTW The City HR person in the interview has farrrrrrrr more pull.
  7. Good for you, Its one hell of a career I work in Toronto on one of the Heavy Rescue trucks ( Fires, High angle rescue, confined space rescue, water rescue, ice rescue, Auto ex and the list goes on....) Its been a dream come true for me. The competition is fierce for the job BUT DON'T GIVE UP!!!!! keep applying every where. Good luck! If ya do your co-op placement in T.O let me know! R

  13. Just wondering what others are doing?? We're fishing brookies up north and than steelies once the crowds thin out during the week. Good luck, RF

  15. Best word's of advice for those lakes and portages "PACK LIGHT" RF
  16. Have a bunch of them, both spinning and baitcasting they are a great rod for the money WHEN THEY ARE ON SALE!!! RF
  17. Fished it a few times in June, caught fish each trip, Dickson lake has always been more productive though. A snap on weight system to get you a little deeper and a blue/silver cleo have always produced while trolling. Water Temps are everything and there's a great article in this months Ontario Outdoors worth a read. Find the feeder creeks and you'll find the Brookies. Also submerged wood structure in 10-15' is always a favorite. Can't go wrong with tiny minnow crankbaits or inline spinners around that stuff. Lavielle is big water and blows up good with the right wind, be careful. And I assume you know of the Black flys in may/june. RF
  18. Maui Jim all the way!!! Great customer service!!! :clapping: RF
  19. Remember that if you do go through, not only are you risking your life but also the lives around you!!! Its in most peoples nature to help, your rescue could turn into multiple rescues!! Think of others before venturing out on to unknown ice. I am guilty as I drive my truck out once I feel its safe. I also have a good knowledge of where the unsafe weak spots/pressure cracks are but really these change daily sometimes. Stay dry, RF
  20. Sharp Rock!!!
  21. Nice work!!!!, Almost steel time!! RY
  22. Firefighter on a Heavy Rescue truck in Toronto, lucky enough to live a childhood dream RF
  23. 2002 Supercharged Xterra, drinks premium fuel so gas is a little pricey. Tows nice but again LOVES the fuel. Takes a beating on the logging trails during hunting season and has yet to leave me stranded or stuck!!
  24. Thats right , my bad RF
  25. You won't find a reel that takes a beating like the 750 Diawa SS whisker.(ultra light) By no means the smoothest reel when compared to newer units out there, but it takes a beating and still preforms day after day. You either love 'em or hate 'em but that's the one I reach for on my backcountry excursions Stardic 1000 is the backup. RF
