  1. NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Nice pics, PM me and we'll catch some Steel. RY
  3. Great Upland dogs, Mines 8 months now and as long as you have time to TRAIN, TRAIN AND TRAIN you can have them preform any task asked of them. Find a good breeder and half the work is done(strong hunting instincts). Read up, a great web site is uplandjournal.com Good luck!
  4. Confirms it!!!!! BROOK TROUT= AMAZING LOCATIONS!!! R
  5. Not looking for any info at all, just wondering if anyone else gets them out of here? Lets see yours if you have them. R
  6. WRONG, many times you could and do end up staying up all shift. A working firehall could never be compared to home. You check equipment, train on the equipment, and maintain the fire hall. You then eat when you can, sleep if you get a chance(some nights are better than others) and many guys try and workout to maintain the physical skills required for the job. Now in between the activities above add in 10-20 calls for medical, Fire, car accidents, rescues, false alarms and even a cat up a tree (it happens). Would I trade this job for anything else....NEVER! RF
  7. BANG!!!!! Hit the nail right on the head!!! Like many, I fish a Northern Trib 3-4 times a week(post reports only a few times LOL) River fishing is hit and miss. We all know its a timing thing, sure there will always be that pool that holds fish during low water conditions or that pool that you will pound them in on a Saturday morning all by yourself because of its remote location but introduce a few anglers (paying or not) and say good bye to your sure thing!! Having worked in the fishing industry for 3 years part time I can't stress how important it is for lack of a better word "to guard" your river spots with your life LOL.. I book a guide service on unknown water don't think for a second I don't have my GPS running and marking all the productive pools, and than going home cross referencing them with google earth and finding the most direct access for when I head back with my fishing buddies whom will never tell anyone LOL. and why would you not! you spent money to get these spots. Just look at what happens when you post pics of a good Rainbow outing, I am sure everyone gets at least three "just curious where were you PM'S) and I have no problem steering guys in the right direction by offering advice and tips, just not to my honey holes. I guess in the long run Guiding is a huge responsibility that one take's on when "guiding" other fishermen. Really consider the impact it will leave on the water shed you choose to guide on, if its what you want GO FOR IT, just put something back in the long run. RF
  8. Nice looking fish, well done. RF
  9. Warmest coat you will ever wear. As far as hunting and ice fishing......I hope you won't be walking far !! They're big, and cumbersome and only have one practical application WARMTH. Great for standing around ice fishing though! RF
  10. Been awhile since hitting the rivers heres why lol, Sorting her out for next bird season. If ya like the hunting dogs enjoy Pointing a Grouse wing Pointing where a grouse was , we flushed it further up the trail. RF
  11. Very nice set up!! RF
  12. Cool see ya on the ice RY
  13. Well done :D RF
  14. Hit the river for a few hours today, tough go with ultra clear water but managed a few fish. Was a roe bite today. They would not touch anything else I drifted by them. They started on the small side. They got a little bigger with a few more between small and med. Then they got bigger, or at least this guy. Tight lines. RF
  15. Nice pics, not long now. RF
  16. I was wondering if that was the case. RF
  17. Nice :thumbsup_anim:
  18. Out grouse hunting today and on the way out of the bush we round a corner and find this in the middle of the trail. We back up and give her TONS of space thinking mom has gotta be near plus my Jeep is brand new and I would like to keep it that way lol. We back up, it follows.......100 yrds She stayed with us awhile and than after some horn honking wondered back into the bush. Never have I seen such a thing, anyone else? Mom was no where to be found. Oct 19th is just around the corner, hope she smartens up..lol RF
  19. Nice, :D RF
  20. A little slower than last year, but once the leafs all drop it should pick up around where we hunt
  21. Yep, should see the looks when they see the boxer and birds LOL.
  22. Well Bow's anyway, Headed out in the am for some upland hunting and river fishing, what else would you do when given a stellar day like today! Had the gear out of the jeep in minutes and decided to wade through an area of new growth forest hoping to put up a few Woodcock with the Boxer. . We have an understanding... I throw the stick into the heavy bird looking cover he puts the birds up with his "bull in a china shop retrieves", When it works I get a bird and he gets to play fetch LOL. (German short haired pointer comes in the spring) Anyways, Three birds were put up, and three birds were missed . Always next week. Decided to trade the 28 gauge for the 13 float rod and head towards the river. fished one pool for a few hours and was kept busy with plenty on 2-3lb little bow's along with a larger fish that out played me into a log pile. Stumbled across a uncovered turtles nest which was kind of neat. Hoping to take advantage of the fall season again next week. RF
  23. Having had a few similar confrontation's when on crown land/private property a shotgun is a must have for this guy, why even risk it? Only one warning shot from this guy! I Carry a bear tag all fall just for this very reason. Glad it worked out for you. RF
