Gave it a good clean and didn't find any tablets or blocks anywhere. Is it possible the previous owners used something to clean that could have caused this. Our previous place was in the city as well so it's not a new thing. We're in Cambridge so I'm going to give them a shout tomorrow and see what they say. Concern is that neither of the other toilets has the smell. Nor does any of the other sinks or shower. So i'm not sure why just this toilet would have that. Also don't really like the smell and just want to make sure it's not harmful.

Thanks Art, I will give it a good clean and see what happens. There is a slight smell in the tank but doesn't seem to be nearly as strong as the bowl itself. I have had the water tested by the company that rents our water softener and it seems consistent with the rest of the house so I'm assuming it's not the problem.

Hey guys, Got a plumbing question for anyone who may be able to provide help. I've got a chlorine smell in one of the upstairs toilets. The sink and shower in that bathroom seem fine though and I don't smell it in any other toilet or any part of the house. I've just bought the house so I don't know about the history. Also this toilet has a water saving device inside the tank (though the tank itself doesn't really smell). I found the device at home depot and the guy there told me that shouldn't be the issue. Any one have any ideas what it could be? I'm kinda puzzled that it's only the one toilet that has the smell. The other 2 toilets don't have the water saver so it's got me thinking that could be the reason but I don't know. Thanks, Tim

Not that difficult to do some basic rigging. Milk crates work great for rigging. Take a piece of pvc pipe and cut it into smaller pieces and glue them in the corners of the milk crate and then you've got rod holders plus storage space. I hate leaving my wallet and such in the car so I bought a waterproof, floating bag for about $20 and it's been worth the money. Good for keys too. Think about buying a light, comfortable lifejacket, preferably one with no padding around the shoulders so you can paddle freely. If you get a cheap, bulky lifejacket you'll either be uncomfortable or find yourself not using it. Enjoy the new yak. They're great for exploring and it will open up new water for you.

Anything in fishing that you've never been able to do?
timmeh replied to Dave Bailey's topic in General Discussion
Have you been using the same reel when this has been happening? If there's an issue with the bail it may not be evenly distributing line when you're reeling in. -
Maybe you've already done this when checking them out, but if not take the reel you intend to use and put in on and see how the rods balance.

Never know when you'll hook into the big one... Here are a few from this year; The first one was my PB for about 30 minutes until I landed the second one. This was caught while fishing for bass with the 6wt. Nice surprise and I may target these guys once or twice next year with the fly rod. Salt water fishing is a blast, except when you need a heavy hoodie in Florida.. but I really wanted to get a decent snook so I was quite happy with this one.

Which fishing year would you consider to be your very best?

Hopefully the next one. -
Rumor has it there's a rather large lake just south of there...... Must be someplace to fish it.

Nice trifector.

Interesting, I've really been thinking about trying to build a rod for a while and maybe this is a sign. For some of you guys who've built before, how much work is involved. Also could anyone give me a cost on the associated costs for a the other supplies I'd need? If someone could give me a ballpark figure that would really help me out. Wouldn't go top of the line but always prefer decent equipment.

Thanks guys. Wasn't sure if aquaseal worked well on neoprene but I'll give it a go.

Hey all, As the title suggests one of the neoprene stocking feet on my waders has sprung a leak. There's a small patch on the heel that's worn through Anyone ever have any luck patching this sort of thing up? Suspecting there's not much that can be done but thought I'd see if anyone has any ideas. Thanks, Tim

I've got the same and am reasonably happy with it. Takes pretty decent picks, though it doesn't have the settings options of the more expensive cameras, if you're the type who likes to have those options. Really durable though. Mines been through the washing machine twice and still works fine.

I own a pair of the 580s as well and think they're fantastic. If you're interested check out the website steepandcheap.com. They have a new deal every 20min or so and once in a while costas come up for great prices. I got my 580s for $80. Catch is that you have to take the frames they offer. Go to basspro and try on a bunch of different frames to get an idea what fits. Check the costa website and they give you a size rating for each frame. It's a great deal if you're not too picky and are willing to wait till you find something good.

Nice fish! Is the second one a coho or am I mistaken?

Sounds like a great day. And picking up a salmon while out bass fishing to top it off. I know how exciting that is as the exact same thing happened to me a couple weeks back.

I use a shimano stradic for the same techniques and it's been great. It's taken a beating and been submerged many times and still works like new. For a few $ less the symetre is a great real and very comparible to the stradic.

Ending My River Bass Season Gloriously(Report with Pics)
timmeh replied to Musky or Specks's topic in General Discussion
Nice to see you got your son back into fishing. A few nice looking fish there. -
You never know what you may find in those stormwater ponds. They are for water management and are not stocked legally. But illegal dumping of fish happens for sure.
-
Absolute beauty. Did ya take him on a big streamer?

If the fish are in, people will follow. If you're willing to put the time and effort into locating some lesser fisher waters you may be able to find some peace and quiet, but don't expect anyone to offer up those spots on the internet. For the most part if you want to fish for steelies you're going to have to learn to share the water. If you wait until the temps really start to drop or fish in bad weather there will be fewer people around but it can still be busy. However sharing the water can offer some benefits for someone trying to learn. Pay attention to the guys who are catching fish, watch what they're using and how they're fishing. Ask a few questions and you may get some good hints to help you get started.

A black woolly bugger catches just about anything.

Wow couple helpful responses for you Do you know or have any experience with this captain? If you do and can trust him than you could be more inclined to take his word on the fishing. You could try calling a few other captains in the area and see what they have to say. May give you the same response but maybe give you some more perspective. Maybe search for a fishing board in that area, join up and ask a few questions. But that seems like a lot of money to speculate so soon after a big storm. Any possibilities of changing to a later date, but maybe tough with the travel involved.

New Study Confirms Participation In Fishing Still Declining
timmeh replied to craigdritchie's topic in General Discussion
yup, that's a much less thought of angle but one that's very important. Our voices are being drowned out by city folk who've never seen a fish outside of the grocery store.
