  1. Outstanding job out there. Lake Ontario holds some amazing fish, good to see many beauties still coming out of there! Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  2. I tried a Berkley Feeding Frenzy lipless and got nothing...i was reeling it in fairly slow to get it to go deeper in the water...even tried popping it up of the bottom...still noting, I'll try this ultra fast thing though, and well I don't got any untra light gear so noting I can improve on there...going to try the drop shot first though with both gulp night crawlers(look exact same) and those leeches... I'll update after I'm done out there tomorrow...hopefully with a picture for you all. Thanks for the tips and such. MTBF
  3. What about Bass Pro Shops. They have lots of crank baits that look appealing to the eye.
  4. Once again I went down to the Lake O harbor in Oshawa to do some smallmouth fishing off the Pier...on the right side of the Pier was lot's of smallmouth but they were deep down..I saw lots cruising around in the 1-3lb range but none(except 1) would commit to any bait I was throwing at them. I was told by a person that they were there chasing baitfish around...so I tried a green tube for awhile, then chartreuse, then a white X-Rap shad...then a spinner, then a chigger craw, then...like I tried a bunch of baits and a Glass Shad Rap was the only thing that got the fish to look at the bait...and that was because I moved down the Pier to shallower water, they would get right close...twitch...twitch...then nothing, and this was after i let the crank bait fall for up to 30seconds. Any suggestions for tomorrow morning down there...I thought about a drop shot off the Pier with a 5" Gulp Leech. Thanks for any help/suggestions.
  5. 6lb approx. If it were 10...we would be looking at close to the Canadian Record Largemouth. Nice bass regardless.
  6. Agreed and well said Dave, As for this, i also got to thank Dave for that Chigger Craw shoot. Although I don't have them on that jig head you were using I use them on that Shaky Jig and they have been doing great. MTBF Edit* Wheres the comeback reply from our friend Basserone....
  7. Also, I wonder if you would be bashing him and his show if he were a member of OFC, like Dave.
  8. I also remember that he said this after saying that if a musky were badly hooked and bleeding the musky would most likely die anyway, further more why waste a musky. Whats better, one in your belly feeding you, or floating in the lake...feeding the gulls. It's important to make judgement calls to keep fish, some people(myself included) keep fish to have a fish fry/shore lunch thing. Others keep fish in order not to let them die. What he said there was not wrong in any way shape or form.
  9. I like the frog pattern for both popers and slop frogs.
  10. Sorry to hear about the un returned new rap. But if your going to quit throwing Rapala's then prepare to find a REALLY good hard bait company...Rapala owns dude, they always have. MTBF
  11. Nice job man, you sure know how to catch them! Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  12. Cool, pike/bass picture. Would never think Pike would eat bass. Great job with those big bass! MTBF
  13. Aint got any except for this small walleye that hit a bass popper 3 years ago.
  14. lol, nice man. Not a bad price on the shorts either...picked up these in the blue/white, and in the brown/white. And my dad likes to keep to his self but the second I asked him he said yes...must be kinda hard on both my mom and dad to see me going in such a short time, but I'll make the best of it with them. Thanks for the comment, MTBF *Edit, you do have the exact same pair, took a look in your latest report.
  15. So here's the story. Today I wanted to spend some time with my dad and do a little fishing down at the Oshawa harbor, so we grabbed out bikes and hit the trail that runs from the Mid Town mall all the way to the lake. We were surprised with the sightings of many big beautiful trees that were knocked down because of yesterdays fast winds. There were many obstacles and challenges to get out bikes and rods through there in 1 piece but we did it. Caught only a few dink rock bass at the pier but we had a great time there. Here are a bunch of photos and a video of one of the "easy challenges"Too hard to explain all of them but here we go..Sorry for all the pictures but I think they speak for their selves. What a disaster, those city workers have lots of work ahead of themThanks for viewing,MTBF
  16. 1)Skitter pop 2)Green tube/tube jig 3)Chigger Craw/shakey jig 4)5" dinger/wide gap hook 5)Scum frog then a x-rap shad, shad shallow, x-rap slash bait, bass jig, power worm....O did I go over
  17. Those carp and bass look flawless. Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  18. Nice job, looks like nice water to fish. Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  19. I was out there 2 weeks ago and caught a decent sized crappie off the shore in the weeds...may of been a quiescence though. As for Musky, your best bet would be the causeway unless they hand around in those sloppy weeds. Something came up so I wont be going there this Saturday but well maybe another time. Good luck, Be sure to report on your day, MTBF
  20. Sorry to hear for your loss. My condolences and best thoughts to your friends and family. MTBF
  21. Nice job with the bass fishing, I can't wait to actually get a bass on a frog...soon enough! Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  22. Great report, nice catches...those bowfin are there only to disappoint lol, but fun to fight. Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  23. Prior to my last camping and fishing trip I picked up a pack of 3" Chigger Craw's and a 2pk of Title Shot "Shakey" Jigs. Rigging was easy but I want to learn where these shakey type setups are at there best. I was fishing these under docks and catching mostly rockbass and the odd largemouth. Moving out to weedy waters I kept on getting hung up. What are some suggestions for small baits to fish on these hooks, also the only weight I can find at CT are 1/4oz. Also, ideal locations and how should these baits be fished, slow fast, dragged? Next are these "Football" jigs I just bought. These are black with sparkles and are 3/8oz jigs. In stead of using a slip sinker these might make my life easier. I am guessing large power worms would be good for this but again, best places to use them, fast or slow, dragged, pitched etc.. Just asking for some insight on these two techniques as I have tried the first one and had some resonably good success, and there fun to fish. Thanks in advance, MTBF
  24. I agree with Yum, very good company and they seem t make a cheaper effective dinger.
  25. 3 spinning rods...and I'm doing just fine. Medium Medium Light & Medium heavy actions.
