Hey, I was recently browsing the Cabela's american website and they have lot's of great stuff, IMO they might have better deals than BPS. Anyway, I wanted to ask a few(as usual), are there rods well made, how have they performed, particularly the Prodigy casting rods, and there Eagle rods. How is this stores customer service and "Cabelas" brand warranty on there products. And last but not least, where is the nearest Cabelas from Oshawa. Thanks, looking forward to some valuable info! For sure, all sealed up now...I can still see improvements like maybe a smaller casting deck in the front...moving the front fishing seat to the middle...replacing some of the wood and getting proper seat mounts. Right now there screwed into swivels into a plank of wood...Would like to have the bare aluminum showing and install seat mounts so the seats can be taken in and out of the boat. Things like that and a small 9.9 gas motor and I'll be one happy camper!

There's a good population of largemouth bass in this lake I'm going to...have been for 10 years now, theirs smallies, smaller pike no more than 40", perch, crappie, and big bowfin. Great lake, I guarantee that I should be able to pull put a 4lb bass or bigger....yes that cocky lol.

Well, next week I'm going to be purchasing a new marine battery from Canadian Tire. So what I'm trying to say is that now that I got my little 11 1/2ft boat fixed up, new paddles and oar locks bought, handles for carrying, and a Minn Kota 30lb trolling motor I'm going to be set up and ready to go for my 2 week trip up to my Great Grandmothers house 30mins past Kingston! Sorry, just had to share my excitement...I just got some money and I'll be able to buy that battery so paddling will not be as hard on me when I can troll slowly on #1 or #2. AHHHH So Happy, Take Care Everyone!!! MTBF **Edit** Well I'm going tomorrow morning bright and early, looking forward to setting up. I might have access to a computer so i might check some of the reports out on OFC but I'm not going to expel any of my success... Again wish me luck and good weather, going to be expanding my knowledge even further using more and different baits...planning on trying a few lipless and more regular cranks, scum frogs, snakes(obviously), dingers, popers, buzzbaits, and well others as well I'm sure. Have a safe 2 weeks everybody and good luck fishing! MTBF

Cool pond, very nice...I would want a pond I could fish and stock myself, but that's not likely to happen lol. As for the new car, she looks nice, and well....at least it was purchased in Canada. MTBF -
Sorry, what's that reel make and model?
-
And how do I go about cleaning it...I put some reel lube on the parts in the winter...made a little big of a difference....or was I suspost to wipe off the old stuff first.

Woo Hoo! Congrads on that BIG BASS! Did you get a weight on her or can I play the guessing game? I'm gonna say 5.10lbs Thanks for sharing, MTBF

Came with the rod...like I said, $129.99...looked like a good deal when I was 13 years old lol....not really that big of a reel, friends have mistaken it for a 2500 sized. Either way, I'm use to it's size and line capacity. *4000 FB it says

Hey 24/7 Next big 4lb fish u catch hold it close to your chest...these fish look like 5lb+ fish when you hold them out...However they do take a nice picture and hey, who wants a slimy shirt lol. Na, just want to see the actual size...maybe a quick length measurement for me MTBF -
Depends how bad of a fisherman he or she is...if your bad, get a camera and look for the fish...Maybe for underwater filming this product would be great but using it while fishing....use the fish finder to see how far down ur bait is and the camera to see the fish bite it..then get a automatic hook set rod with a electric reel to bring the fish to the boat for you...O and don't forget a guide to take the fish off and throw it back for you. Sorry...been a long nite, somebody lend me the cash and I'll get on

Nice solid looking fish man, good job! MTBF

On, thanks for the info guys. Just wondering if I would be able to get another rod, but if not no worries. As of now this is my favorite rod and reel combo, the rod is only a IM-6 and it has very good sensitivity and action battling many fish from bass to pike to carp. Still early in the thread but thanks for the quick responses, MTBF

Hey, I got a question for you Shimano guys. I bought a Izumi signature series rod(6'6) with a 4000Sedona spinning reel 3-4years ago and at the base of the rod just past the cork the graphite(i think) has been chipping off and leaving the blank exposed. That and the reel seems to reel in with a bit of resistance/non smoothness. Any chance of me getting a replacement rod from them? I bought it at Gagnon Sports in Oshawa for $129.99.

Ok, so I''m tired of hearing about this store. I will get to a Le Baron before the fall, not trying to hijack the thread but where is the closet Le Baron from Oshawa?

Wow, congrads! Looks like a big old warred out old fish lol. Thanks for sharing, MTBF

Fed up with Shimano, and shimano warranty centers
MCTFisher9120 replied to coolio's topic in General Discussion
Good story. Sorry that you have yet to fix your problem with Shimano. Never had to deal with them before however, I'll keep this story in mind whenever in the future if I make a extreme Shimano purchase. Wonder if that was a Shimano Sponsor's rod...I doubt they would go through that much trouble to get a rod fixed...incorrectly. Good luck, Mike -
Wow, great job with the videos man, congrads on those 2 BIG walleye! Thanks for sharing, MTBF

Looks like a nice boat. With 2 people, a nice trolling motor and some rods weight should not be a issue. Thanks for posting, MTBF

Awesome couple days of topwater smallies PIC HEAVY
MCTFisher9120 replied to rickster's topic in General Discussion
That has to be the best Smallie report on OFC so far, It's been awhile since I have seen that many fish in that 4lb+ range...and not just for the adult for the kids too Outstanding job man, that lake looks amazing with those fields of grass( I can see it good in pic's 3 and 4)...I'm wondering if there any largemouth's in this lake you were at? Anyway, thanks for sharing, MTBF -
