I have heard of nighttime largies but not smallies, guess I need to get out more LOL. Thanks for the report and pictures! I bet you would not believe me but I caught a catfish at night on a bass popper, literally when it hit the water... MTBF

Black/Blue tubes? Do they work, I got 2 different b/b variations of tubes...might try them out on my trip. Anyway, nice job with the smallies, tubes rule!

2 day drive...left at 6am, and were in New Brunswick by 5 or 6ish i think it was, then its a few more hours the next day to nova scotia.

You will love the trip. When we drove 3 years ago we went through Quebec, then through New Brunswick. Ended up camping there for the weekend then continued to Nova Scotia. I believe they took the 401 then the Trans Canada highway. It was a lovely drive and heck I even caught my first saltwater fish, a small mackerel here are some pictures from our trip dude. Border Completely alone Fishing a crisp clean river And here is 1 of 4 mackerel I caught on a silver spoon, hey if you want to pack a small spinning rod and reel you will be fine. I caught them in Cape Breton along the highway/causeway. Enjoy your trip...don't worry it will be here soon enough! MTBF

If i were you and I had a tent and basic camping gear I would book dates this month and do some camping trips at some camp grounds first. walk the little roads and say hi to people and get a first hand feel for the park. For 6 or 7 years my family and I were camping all across Ontario, we then upgraded to a pop up trailer(22ft opened) and found a amazing place that was the closest to out home in Oshawa. No more than 1h30mins away. We went there on the weekends throughout the summer for a year, then the 2nd year we had a 2 week trip there, now we left our trailer there. Very nice place with great people there, people that see you fishing on the dock and just say, "do u wanna go out in the boat"...no ID needed or passport just a simple hey come out with me, parents are invited to other peoples trailers to play cards and chat. It's the road to finding a nice place with a first hand experience that makes all the difference. Sometimes a good price on a trailer might just be the wrong price to take. Regards and good luck with your search, MTBF

not saying they don't work but are they natural? maybe due to us fisherman...

I'm not a expert on murky water but try a buzzbait bite, perhaps early morning or evening...White, black, orange color should not matter as it's the noise and vibration that brings them up. Another would be a crankbait, try something silver or chartreuse. MTBF

That fight must of been one to remember. Congratulations on a fantastic catch man. MTBF

Thanks for the compliments guys, never thought of being shaken or a little nervous on video lol. As said, guess it's natural. On my trip to Kingston next week(leaving Saturday for 2 weeks) I'll take many short videos and try my best to get some strikes filmed...Then make a 10 minute or so long video for you all if wanted. Tightlines, MTBF

I'm back on schedule, 3 votes a day until saturday will be coming from me dude.

Great job, I have had times like that where the fish had hit 2 or 3 times in the slop gets ur heart pumping. Thanks and congrads, MTBF -
I've been having problems hooking the fish also in the really thick stuff, going to stick to jigs in those situations, in more moderate stuff try the frogs might have better luck. I hope I do lol. Good Luck, MTBF

Hello again everybody, hope you all had good weekends. I caught some fish this weekend and had a good time, Doug had a good time also and caught some nice little panfish. I got him using a crankbait and a jerkbait for the first time(X-Rap slashbait and a X-Rap shad shallow) and he had a good time using them, I myself used them and caught some small fish and a decent 1 1/2lb bass from under a boat just running the crank along side it- Here are some more pictures, as always got up early and threw the poper around catching fish(and loosing fish), and I got a video of a strike+the fight on a decent bass!!!I was very happy lol Enjoy, The 2 fish on film Small bass caught on a spinner[b/] And as always some type of animal comes out to visit me, this time a otter or a beaver maybe- Thanks for viewing, MTBF
