Favorite BIG largemouth bass lure-presentation?

I love fishing in moderate to thick vegitation. Loved it last year out towards Kingston and at the BOG. Caught two 4lb bass on those Origional Fishing Snakes of mine, going to use those with some braid as well as some bass jigs + some topwater bass frogs. Going for the thick stuff this year for the LMB. -
Skitter pop is my best topwater poper. Use it slowly with loud pops and you will get results.

Nice job man, there actually such fun fish to catch. Got to get a rod/reel for them. Nice report, Thanks for sharing! MTBF

Not sure if I have the right "carp tackle" however, my little 5'6 rod worked fine lol. You never know, might be worth a try but I'm liking the #'s of Carp Scugog has. You might have to teach me the Art of Carp fishing.

well, guess the wings decided to let us win the cup off of home ice this year. would of been nice to win at home, but nope now we got to win in the dirty Detroit. Thanks Wings.

Went to Lake Scugog yesterday and my plan was to catch some perch and take some casts for some musky. Well i gave up pretty quick on the Musky cause i could not find some weed free water. Anyway, I was fishing in between the boat ramp and the main dock in town for perch. Was using a 1/8oz jig with a 3" leech and threw it out in the water after a follow by a perch. So put the rod down and took a few bites of my granola bar, next thing my little 5'6 Med Light spinning combo flies into the water head first and i jumped to catch it, relized the drag was set hard so i scrambled a bit and loosened the drag knowing i had something big on the line. After the fish made some splashes near the surface i saw i had a big Carp on the line, after a 15min+ fight with the Carp i myself brought it to shore. Asked a kind lady to take some pictures with my camera for me and I was happy to of caught yet another PB. 24 1/2" carp guessing between 10-13lbs. Also caught some smaller rock bass at the causeway and took a video of 2 carp I saw thrashing around behind the grocery store, kinda neat to see at the other end of the lake. PB Carp- One of about 6 rockbass I caught- Water shot with the Lake Scugog Scuzz in the bottom left corner- And the Carp Video- Until Next Time, MTBF

Get a little Rapala Jointed Minnow-J09 3 1/2"...try the chartruese colour. Great action and it's a bait SMB will chase down.

Nice job, congrads on your first Walleye at that location. -
I'm no more than a 10 minute walk from this area, seeing it on the news i could hear the helicopter both on the TV and from outside, it's amazing how close this happened. From what I know, on of the cars on the train contained a house hold chemical...hopefully it has not been ruptured in any way.

Your right, if they were than Crosby and Malkin would be the best in the league right now. Back to Scoty and his comment- Pretty sure I myself didn't start to brag after last night's game. I said my plan and I'm going to stick to it. (pg 1) However, some members may of started there bragging after last night's game, but like you, I don't brag nor do i start thready feeling way cocky after 2 back to back wins. Good luck in game 5 and 6.
-
I'm still hoping for 6 games as i said before. That's right, 4 straight wins and take the cup victory at home. Think of is like last night's score 4-2 pens win the cup.
-
I'm sorry Scoty but win or loose, that short handed goal and then that goal after by Crosby just made my night. **Edit, and that 4th goal was nice.

Another top lure thread lol. myself along with other anglers just don't depend on just one lure, however if i only for some strange reason I could have only 1 bait, guess a Texas rigged dinger would be my best bet, great for bass, rockbass and potentially small pike. Simple and effective.

Going to attempt to see if any smaller Musky will be close to shore at Scugog using some smaller HJ's and other hard baits. If no action, going to just go for some Perch I guess, can't wait to see some killer reports.
-
lol, they need a grammar check for me here on OFC, ah well. Thanks for pointing that out sport
-
lmao, I'm surprised myself and another angler are not fighting on here like TA and the Dr. Man, thought I was suppose to be the teen here, guess these days the young people are maturing a little quicker. Ah well, for me smaller fish I catch generally are held vertically, and big fish are held horizontal with a hand under the fish.
-
lmao, oops there now I see it. Either way, get off your buts and help clean up some garbage. Until next time MTBF

Go on the site and register up, lot's of us fish Lake Scugog and well others litter it. First looked at the site and made a spelling error(Port Parry lol) Now i see it's Port Perry. Anyway...well now I can't complain and saw that there is nobody that wants to clean up the area but infact there are. Not going to register but when I go out Saturday, guess I'll bring a bag and take out a small portion with me. MTBF http://www.vanaqua.org/cleanup/home.php?in...p;submit=Search

I see the point for pro bass guys and regular anglers to have a bunch of different rods for bass fishing but how many are really needed. Like, i seem to be able to have decent success with just my 3 rods. However, I'm just asking to see what techniques really need there own rod rather than having the ability to use 1 rod for a few techniques. Example-Can't a 7'MH baitcasting rod be good for both spinnerbait and jerkbait fishing, with even a few more applications. Same thing with a 6'6M action spinning rod can't it be productive for tube, grub, and smaller soft plastic worm fishing to be done well. In your opinion, what techniques really deserve a certain application of rod(action, lenght, etc). Asking for the laydown to rods and reels for techniques. My productive ways to fish for bass has been these applications: Jerkbaits, some crank's, dingers, topwaters, moderate jig fishing in semi thick vegetation, tubes, and small spinners.Essentially all I do while fishing for bass. So with techniques like this, what rod actions/lengths would be suitable, as said before i seem to of gotten good at using just spinning tackle. Kind of a weird thread but just interested in peoples preferences when it comes to matching rods to techniques in fishing.

WOW, huge Perch dude. Congrads on that Perch, they don't come to often(for me at least lol). Thanks for the report, MTBF

Good thing you didn't. Seems very like the Washington series all over again...Only difference is were against a group of older players. Good game last night, better game tomorrow night.

I ate some frozen walleye curtsy of my uncle and it tasted great, not sure of the "fresh" taste of this particular fish but when were camping we generally try to freeze a few bass then have a large fish fry. Never have I had bass that tasted bad frozen. However, if somebody want's to provide the food for the test, i'll be there to do the "testing" of the fish

Forgot to add in my Doug Hannon Original Fishing Snakes! Guess I'll switch out that crank bait.

I agree, also a Leafs fan. However, yes Detroit is a really good team, but how much better can they get. I mean, this team is very mature and well inquired and close to there prime in Hockey today. Look at the Pens, making finals 2 years in a row with such a young team that has more than enough time to get even better, watch out for this club, look how well there doing already. Wait until they further improve on there success, and most importantly, wait until the time runs out at the end of game 4 to see where this series is going. Mike
