Great catches, how did that mean Bowfin fight? Thanks for sharing, MTBF

Congratulations on the fine purchase. Be sure to take a picture...whats your number again? I got to get down there sooner! MTBF

Well all this info is great. I'm going to lake Seymour this Friday for a week of fishing. Approx 50ft from the shore there is a long narrow weed bed thick of weeds from bottom to top of the water coloum. No floating weeds however. I like to try to get out to the outter most edge and fish crankbaits along the edge. Would this Chigger craw, along side a 7" power some be good techniques to try out along the edges?

wow, what beautiful looking musky, love those strong green colors they show. Congrads on a great outing! MTBF

Sorry, have not been paying to much attention to the latest bass fishing news. Where is this tournament, how long, what lake etc.

great catches! Very nice fish!

Gulp Alive 3" Minnows have done me well fished on a circle hook and split shot. Generally use this for small bass, rockbass, and perch seem to like it a lot. Also, I myself will try to fish these 5" leeches i got on a drop shot or something...very good looking baits. Edit* I recommended just purchasing them in the package rather the container. Unless you want frequent leaks and the added weight then just get the regular Gulp products.

Hey OFC, well we just booked a trip to head up to the campground in Campbellford for a 9 day trip to do some camping and fishing. Hopefully I'll do as good as i did last year, maybe catch a bigger Gar Pike at my little spot and another big bass like i did last year. Just would like to know some info on the water conditions out there, how are the weeds, waters levels high? anything that may hamper or be good to know for my trip. Going to be bringing my little inflatable to fish just off out past the docks(don't want to voyage too far out lol) so if the bite is slow off the several docks i'll try that. As always, I'll set up a report and hopefully a nice bass for Team 4! Thanks for any info guys, I'm pretty excited! (Last Year) Big Bass Brothers PB Gar Pike And the Best Part Of Every Day MTBF

Agreed. Also was good to see Tim get those awards along side Steve Mason, outstanding player he will shape into.
-
Was a great show...1 hour 30mins long but enjoyed to see some great awards and players. Good job NHL.

See I got these jig heads at Canadian Tire. They also had those Knuckle Ball jigs but in yellow, pike, orange and white i think...no black. They also had jigs by the same company(i think) but they were equipped with wide gap hooks and a heavier weight at the head. Good prices also.

lol, well i'll try it at a few spots and share how it works. looks perfect, small and the fishes fav choice for prey as they can give back the most energy to fish.
-
Can't believe you just said that. Dave Mercer! dave who this guy says...jeeze.

Bought a pack of 3" Green Pmk chigger craws + a 2pk of these title shot "shaky jigs"(1/4oz). I think this is how one is suppose to rig these baits. I'm guessing another bottom bait, worked on light line...probably optimum for smallies. If I'm correct, Dave used this technique on one of his shows this year. Any insight on additional ways to rig/fish these let me know! Guess my first step to semi finesse fishing MTBF EDIT**See last page for a additional question plz.

Well said and what you did say made a lot of cents . I was watching a older In-Fisherman video and Doug was discussing this older bass rig called the Swimming worm. He was using it and having great success, now same deal, a older bait/technique (20 years ago said by him)with great success. Something simple as a constant wide spin to a straight standard worm triggers fish. But looking at things now we need rattles, scent, suspending baits, erratic action, LPT and other feeding stimulants to trigger fish....baits on steroids is a better name for the "normal baits we use today". Taking a step back will put many anglers forward. MTBF

Going to be trying a older technique with just texas rigging a berkley power worm(7") this summer fishing it through semi thick(pads) vegetation. Would braid or mono be better with this kind of fishing, also what lb-test range. Any any ways of retrieve should i be practicing while using this bait? I'm guessing working it like a jig/grub...just letting it sit and popping it up and down. Fill me in please, MTBF

Looks like it'll be a fun trip. Be sure to take lot's of pictures, almost a adult and well im sure in the next year or so i'll be up there fishing and having a good time! Have fun, MTBF

Ok so here's the deal, I managed to seek out a few friends and we want to do a day type fishing trip. Now, these guys are not the greatest or even remotely good at fishing. Our destination will be Scugog and were shooting for some time during the following week to the bass opener so thats a bit of a advantage to be fishing the shores during the week vs the weekend. Basic setups for these guys will be 6'6 spinning rods with light line. I'm not to familiar with the bass fishing at the causeway or the less weedy areas in Port Perry. I'm thinking minnows from the tackle shop with circle hooks and maybe a bobber or something for them while I use "bass baits" and catch less fish. Will this be productive there and will these guys(kids) remain happy during the day? And one more question, how much is it per dozen for the minnows at the top of that street at the top of that road just past the causeway( Causeway bait and tackle i think) Thanks for any info, help, suggestions and info you guys and gals can give me! MTBF btw there's 3 of them i got to take care of.

Sounds like you have installed/got some good stuff. Let me know how those drop shot baits work, was looking at them the other day. And the tackle organizer/rod straps were good ideas as organization while fishing is key.

IMO We at OFC have some of the finest anglers around. So I'm just a little curious to see if any of you have any record fish, either lake records, species specific, international etc...I'm not going to expect a full thread full of responses but am just a little curious to see what some of you may of caught. I remember in the winter somebody on here caught what they thought was a record ling(correct me if im wrong) through the ice, so for me that's all i know about. Thanks and lets see some giants.(or record small fish if you want ) MTBF *Edit-Does anybody know a site on lake records for things like bass, pike, perch etc or are lake specific records more a local thing?

Great catch, good to see some success finally! Thanks for sharing, MTBF

Wow. great job out there. All were great sized fish. Starting to like this Carping thing, might have to meet up some time! Congrads, MTBF

I bought some of there jerk shad things. White is the color, kind of neat that there individually packed in some scented juice. I'll give them a go eventually and report back to anybody interested.
-
Nice job out there man, going to make it my mission to at least catch 1 pike this year lol. Thanks for sharing, MYBF
