  1. Our new ( to us) house has icicles forming directly over the front door and subsequently a build up of ice on the concret pavers in front of the door. I have seen the eve/gutter deicer cables on houses and think it may help , although the nearest downspout is 30-40 ft away ( around the corner) I presume in order for this device to work I would need to run cables in a zig zag pattern above the door area as well as along the gutter to teh nearest corner where I plan to add a down spout (about 15 feet away). Any one have experince ,suggestions appreciated as always dave

  5. hoping someone ( Motv8r or Irishfield?) know if the Pentanguishene ramp is still accessible . Looked ok last week but cold weather must have put some pretty thick ice in there . Creek behind our place has a good sheet of ice on it ! back up is Niagara ( tomorrow) but wouldn't mind a shorter drive. appreciate any info TB
  6. just had the same thing happen with ours today. found one of the joint s in the track had come slightly out of line causing the wheel to jam. loosened off the two bolts lined up the track tightend up teh bolts and all seems good . TB

  11. our old ( 15 year plus, came with the house) Maytag washer has started to leak .It appears that the seal where the drive passes thru the bottom of the drum has failed. from everything I can find on the web ( and talking to local appliance parts place) the repair is fairly involved and requires some special tools ( to remove nut and pull out seal). wondering if anyone has any experince with this , do it your self or otherwise. apparently these older machines are 'workhorses' and are worth spending $s on. thanks for any advice TB

  15. still planning to go , only issue would be road conditions . Towing thru a blizzard from Barrie might not be as fun as it sounds. Definatly a Muskie Newbie but if anyone is in need I have a open seat as Pikeie won't be back from school untill the following week. Would it be too much to expect soemone with a 4x4 to assist at the ramp as needed TB
  16. One word Beautiful! TB
  17. wayne thought i would just you 'break the ice' tb
  18. ate way to much at Madarin last night and woke up before 5 am. decided to take the long way to work via Midland ! Been hoping to get back out on GBay one more time but with - 17 degree temps at 5 am things are not looking good. Midland launch has been 'plowed' most likely by the dreging company who appear to still be working ( barge and excavator) in the channel. about 1 inch of comacted snow/ice makes launching out of the question even with a shovel and salt. Took the 5 k drive to Pentanguishene and the ramp there has been plowed and is BONE DRY concrete Should brought he boat along as forecast is not looking good for the next several days. slight skim of ice but still workable . some smart guy still has his boat in the marina there. Fiqures . stored the boat way too early last two years , held out this year and look what happens. I know , I know go ice fishing ! But Nov 19 is way too early . Will just need fairly decent driving weather to get down to Niagara ..maybe friday TB
  19. My youngest wears a floater ( mans small) that was tailored to suit another youth ( he is small for his age) ,bought it used 3 years ago. it might be tough trying to tailor down a full size suit to age 6 size though. tb
