short of the obvious ( buying an auger or spud bar!) and presumeing you aren;t going with some one who has one . Your options are somewhat limited. If you are going to a busy area ( ie Cooks bay) and on a busy day ( weekend) and the weather isn't so freakin cold you could hope to find some open ( not froze shut) holes. Or try and see if a freindly fellow fisherperson on the ice would let you borrow thiers last two are kinda risky Or try hooking up with a fellow OFNr , you got two weeks to plan it. TB

how do you know if your trailer get a flat tire on the road?
tinbanger replied to Victor's topic in General Discussion
It will depned on size of trailer/boat and type of tire failure. I pulled my old 12' tinney on a trailer from Barrie to Missisauga with one tire with no air in the tube at all. The tire sidewalls where stiff enough that you couldn't tell the tube had zero air . anything bigger ... you will know and if you don't have one already get a spare and make sure you have a lug wrench that fits the wheel nuts on the trailer and a jack that will work on your trailer . Rented a tent trailer 4 years ago and had a blow out in Thunder bay ,trailer had a spare tire but no jack and the van lug wrench didn't fit the trailer wheel. We instantly heard/felt the tire go . But Wayne .. its like buying a sparkplug for a ferrari compared to chevette! Loaded question ..but are you happy with top/drop curtain they provided ,especially the zippers and hardware ? I feel better knowing its the same manufacturer . will ask about thier return policy TB -
Pikeie is my oldest ( Matthew) and he is in his first year at Sault College ( Fish and wildlife). Trip is 6 to 6 1/2 hours one way . But add in unloading at residence and lunch = a 14 hours day . We got lucky with weather so no delays , dry pavement there and back , except for a little snow by the North Channel. Actually we find it a nice relaxing drive , even had a little snooze while my wife drove , not something I can usually do. TB

Was wondering if any one has any experiences with this item or has even seen one ? They are a 'universal' fit full top for side console boats , $1,000 plus tax and shipping they aren't cheap , but if they work as good as they say I wouldn't mind the cost. Made in Winnipeg.MB My biggest concern would be the 'univeral fit ' part and how they hold up to a 40 MPH run into the wind on GBay in November ? Appreciate any feedback. http://www.dufort.mb.ca/products.html TB

Not surprised to see the dead deer ( looked fresh , there was a pick up stopped already LOL) the Moose surprised me a bit , been there a while ,the plow had pushed it up onto the bank .Its was the flock of ravens that caught my attention first. as for the Coyote , that was just funny! as for tims , not too bad only had to choke one down . Luckily there is REAL coffee in Parry Sound now. TB

I would take issue with the 'all' builders are your enemy. do you homework , check previous subdivisions the buidler has bulit and see what pops up. We bought an new entry level home from a medium sized builder in Barrie about 15 years ago. Only a couple of minor issues shortly after we moved in that were dealt with quickly. None of my neighbours had any major issues except a leaking foundation that the builder fixed . have since bought another house in the same subdivision ( same builder and age) . No issues here except wear and tear . Custom home builders have there issues as well. TB

today was the day to get Pikeie back to school so we hit the road early and enjoyed the bright moonlight. Lots of wildlife on the way up ..deer ..moose ..coyote unfortunatly all dead ! The coyote was pretty funny .It had been dead long enough to frreeze solid and someone stuck it on the snow bank along hwy 17 .sure slowed down traffic ! Luckily weather was on our side and the drive back went a smooth as the trip up. TB
