  1. With plans for a couple of GBAY trips all but wiped out for this week I was hoping someone could direct me to some Niagara River launches and possibly any tips ( PMs welcomed) Just looking for general area of the river where the odd Muskie 'might' be found. Hav enever fished the river before. Also if anyone is interested will be planning the trip for this thursday , leaving from Barrie around 6 am ( weather dependant!) and staying till around 4 pm TB
  2. As far as wear on winter tires I suspect it depends on the vehicle , my 99 venture ( not exactly a Lexus ) has had Nordics on for about a year .Ran them all summer as well ( about 30,000 k) and still look new .Suspect the tires will outlast the vehicle The Odesyee has Michelins , bit pricey but without then the Honda doesn't like hills. TB

  11. looking for your thoughts, comments and suggestions. Moved about a year ago to a house with a double garage , two seperate doors. Thought it would be great to keep the boat in the garage especially in the fall and also a great spot to store it over the winter. Only problem the doors are about 5" too narrow. My Galvanized Easy loader trailer actually seems a bit over sized for my 1775 Lund Classic .the fenders have about 4" of clearance to the rail of the trailer and the outside face of the tires are easily 12" from the edge of the boat. I was thinking why not remove the axle assembly cut about a 6" section out of the centre of the axle , reinforce and weld and ,,presto a new slightly narrower trailer. Other than the welding part , should be able to handle the rest in the driveway. Now just gotta clean out the garage Appreciate your comments. TB

  19. great report Brian I hunted with my dad for better part of 20 years at our camp ( those bush shots look just like our area) . Those are memories that can't be beat . Heading on this coming weekend to meet up with the boys for a couple of days. Looking forward to it is an understatement TB
  20. with a day like that who could resist hitting the bay for some summer like conditions in November. Launched around 9 am and decided with such great conditions to do a bit of exploring , Travelled a few miles north and started trolling and stopping to cast any promising areas. Marking some bait fish here and there .Water temps avg 48.5 Several hours later happened upon a great looking spot .20 feet of water transitioning to 12 with weed. Second cast I raised a nice looking Muskie while fiqure eighting . He turned away but as I kept working the bait he reappeared and ...FISH ON. Unfortunatly he only had one hook of the last treble and he was off again just as fast . Caught on a red /black Maraboo in line spinner that Pikeie had made a few years back. Stayed in that area for another hour or so , but no luck. Ended the day around 4 as I had to be back home . Can' t wait for next week and another shot at these elusive fish TB
