  1. Had a few in "walters" in the boat this weekend with only 1 keeper... At least I got out!!!

  2. Dude that is a very nice ride for a 14' tinny!!! I think I'd rather that over the 18.6" fiber-bowrider I use with no trolling motor...
  3. With the winds this weekend all you needed to do was hold up an empty grocery bag in both hands as a sail and you would have been across the bay in minutes!
  4. There are some decent numbers of musky in Sturgeon (all sizes) as EC and I seem to find those buggers while walleye fishing... One we never seen but I hooked into burnt out the drag on an Ardent reel in NO TIME and EC was on the electric motor full speed to keep up with it too, then it decides to hunker down and *ping* it was gone.... Good luck and have FUN!
  5. and then some of the bad ones... lol!
  6. Yeah they did ban them but I don't recall ever being told to cut it up and throw it away after they banned them. If so, I would have expect all that purchased those units would get a full refund no if's and or buts,,, Hell if I had one I'd have kept it!
  7. another option if you don't try out the "off line" app's is not to get a SIM for the tablet and pay for two different data plans but consider increasing your current data plan and use the cell as the wifi hot spot as mentioned. And CONGRATS! My dad uses his tablet WAY MORE than his laptop because how easy they are to use. Enjoy
  8. Same here and ironically the 911 operator asked if they could call me back if needed and I said "sure but I'm still driving and on my hands free so your call I guess". I knew the person was not 100% sober as I walked out of the bank they walked out of the beer store right beside and swearing and so forth under their breath about not able to get more beer. I watched him open a beer from a cooler in the back seat and pour it into a "portable coffee cup" have a sip and drive off. If the beer store will not serve you and then you open a beer and drive off, one would assume I made the right call there... Back to the idea. The OS for the phone company is a valid idea but then they would have to sell "Ontario" ready phones. This means the GPS is on 24/7 and this will reduce battery life thus not a happy user. The set "speed" would have to be around 25 to 30 MPH and have different settings. Example: Your phone will not work in a moving 'car' unless you pick the proper setting and will only have access to hands free in the car. Setting 2: boat travel, able to talk and or text. Setting 3: Passenger in 'car' talk and text can work. BUT WE ALL KNOW that MOST of the people will use setting 3 all day every day. Sad but true... If I'm driving places other than to work and back (only around 3KM) my hands free is ON so I can take calls only. I set up different sounds for different things (email vs text vs BBM msg from my kids). So if I hear it's a BBM from my kids then I pull over and check it out. All others now wait OR I have the passenger reply for me.
  9. A nice fish for sure, congrats!
  10. Good idea In theory it could work as long as the car has a hands free option and then the cell must be synced to the car every time you get in.
  11. Time for a change? Interview for a WHOLE NEW CAREER on the 17th! *fingers crossed*

  12. LoL on the whole post. And yeah sounds like a heck of a time. I'd have to say I'd invest a rather large amount in both my kids names and they cannot touch it till a higher education has been completed (so say by 25 yrs old?). If said investments paid off they would have more then ever needed but there would be ground rules in place like 'must continue to work and not just spend the free cash till you're broke and then find a job'. Then of course my parents would be set too. Let them tell me what they need as I'm SURE I COST A WHOLE LOT TO THEM growing up... Then I find some me time, maybe the pub? HA! Travel across Canada 1st and foremost to keep the money I spend and share here. That would be a year long trip only. I've been where I want to travel mostly other then 2 places. England and Ireland. I'd be booking to go there for a bit and play some golf at the historical courses, have a beer in said pub on site and then go fishing there (in said pub and out of the pub if you get my point). Then to invest more for me, like maybe a few investment homes around the GTA and in the 705. Find a cottage for me and the kids and get a new Ranger with all the toys. I know all that is a dream as I just don't have the luck to win... Oh and I'd need to start and buy a ticket to play too!
  13. looking great E! I may be off Thurs (trying to trade thurs off for Fri so I can get my kids for me weekend) but if I cannot and your off let me know if you need a hand.
  14. I will not take the chance as I've almost been hit (fishing, golfing and inside a house). When it hit the house it blew up the chimney, all electronic devises that were on, hit the patio on the other side of the sliding glass door I was in front of and it launched me a good 14" across the floor on my back. Not interested in being a human lightning rod here...
  15. It just rained so hard here in Lindsay that the gutters couldn't keep up and the ground probably didn't get a whole lot soaked up.
  16. here comes that thunderstorm to the Lindsay area...

    1. misfish

      misfish

      Just arriving here G.

  17. the one's I get a food basic's in town have an "official Blue Jay's Dog" logo on them; so are they made partly of bluejays?!?!?!?!
  18. Wish I could but stuck working the next 5 days in a row... Come get me now? LOL!
  19. My 12 year old daughter cast's 3/4 up the lake (4 mile lake) using #8 nanofil line so #6 means she'd be hitting Balsam... lol
  20. Made a "bunky" for me on my dad's property in a few days of non stop work vs paying someone else to do it was what I did. I get you may not have the time to do so hence why asking where to buy so if no time to do so, buy a pop up camper so it can be used for the future too.
  21. going out to fire up the bbq for some:
  22. that's the scary part and the sad truth...
  23. Well Jacques, good to see a post from you bud and a very nice score in the process!! Dinner looks AMAZING!
  24. I try and avoid these posts but you think 250-400 fish were killed from the tournament anglers there Fenelon? So your saying in my eyes that all fish hooked either too big, too small for the slot or in theslot died. That's how tough the fishing was out there that I bet based on talking to two buddies to fished it the total fish "stung" was still under 300. You can BET that some of the "floaters" came from various reasons including pre-fishing. When I catch a walleye over the slot and I feel I want photo prof (bragging rights not tourny stuff) I don't even take it out of the net. I have fished in EC's boat many a time and yes it is older but we have never had a walleye be belly up or even close to it when we fish this very lake. Trust me when I say waves make no issues in the livewell as EC likes to get spot to spot FAST and we've had some "fun rip's" and it's never been an issue on this lake water temp or livewell wise. If there was dead fish as a 100% proven direct result to that event; I fell it was the angler and a bad catch and release (livewell or stringer) system that failed for the majority of any dead fish. BTW, I wonder how much Tim's and others sales jumped over those days that they don't normally have...
