  3. I resize all mine in photoshop then upload to photobucket and then post.

  5. cool markings on that guy/girl
  6. I woke up fairly late this morning so a long hike was out of the question. I looked online for something short and easy and found the Lower Falls Trail in Golden Ears Provincial Park. This Park is in Maple Ridge, BC and took me about 45 mins to an hour to get there. The 3km round trip hike was beautiful and offered many views of Gold Creek as I made my way to the Falls. There really isn't much more for me to say about it so I'll let the photos say the rest.......enjoy. This is the first view of Gold Creek Another shot of Gold Creek taken through some cedar branches These things look like really really brittle bony fingers.....however I believe they are a kind of moss or maybe even a mushroom? either way they looked cool What's worse than a spider sitting on a web? A spider sitting on a web in HDR!!!!!!! This was taken near that spider and it's another shot of Gold Creek And Gold Creek again A calmer section of the Creek with mountains in the background I lowered the camera almost to waterlevel for this shot of the creek And the falls with a nice rainbow I've always wanted to try taking a pic like this...... One more view of the creek on my way back to the parking lot And lastly, a shadow of yours truly Note: all photos taken using the HDR method

    another great shot Deano.
  8. ya man colours look great in that shot
  9. correct me if i'm wrong anybody but I believe Ling are the only freshwater specie of fish that spawns below the ice....therfore winter is the best time to chase them. I've had best luck with frozen smelt laying right on the bottom through the ice.....this however was up in Northern Ontario so I'll let some of the TO natives chime in with their local advice.
  10. lol yeah Kev I was joking about the tree. but there were tons of those stumps out there and some even had other trees growing from them.......just goes to show you that forests regenerate just fine after loggers go through
  11. It was a beautiful fall day here and as I mentioned in my previous post it's been raining here for the last week so I just had to get out. I decided to head to Lynn Headwaters Regional Park in North Vancouver today and make the 14km round trip hike to Norvan Falls. The distance of the hike makes it sound worse than it is because its basically level walking the entire way. The trail follows Lynn Creek for quite sometime before heading off into the bush and towards Norvan Creek. The falls at the end of the hike were nothing special. The hike to and from was much more interesting to look at than the falls so I really didn't take too many pics of them. Most of the pics are just scenery shots of Lynn Creek with some other random shots thrown in. Anyways heres the pics... how bout some tree for that moss? some old bucket hanging This is a huge stump.....so big that you can't even see me standing on it...... the falls.......woohoo cool suspension bridge leading to grouse mountain another 7kms away
  12. After a week of constant rain it finally let off today and I was just dying to get outside. I drove to North Van and was planning on going to Lynn Headwaters Regional Park but I read a sign that said "gates close at 6pm". It was about 5:30 at this point and by the time I would even get to a good location to shoot it would be time to leave. So just before you get to Lynn Headwaters Regional Park there are a few parking lots and they lead to the Varley Trail, which in turn leads to the Park but I only had time for the trail today. Here are some photos of my walk along the trail and tomorrow I'll be heading to the park and hopefully to Norvan Falls which are about 5kms in. Anyways heres the pics... and my favourite, a nice little crystal clear runoff stream with a bright green canopy

  18. a really long tiny magnet? or something along those lines that would fit into the ignition?
  19. I live in Vancity but I'm still waiting on my gear to get shipped out here from ontario so I haven't fished yet......but it should be here this weekend. Anyways I always see guys fishing the north shore rivers like Seymour and Capilano....my guess is for the salmon that are running. If I find out any more info I'll let you know but I know I'm sure anxious to finally wet a line out here.

    awesome pic as always man
  21. Lew, I highly recommend a camera with image stabilization over one without it. My canon digital SLR is the first digital SLR canon came out with and it doesnt have any image stabilization nor do my older lenses and it gets to be a bother sometimes. If I plan to use my 70-300mm zoom lens at all I better get out my tripod or not even shoot the pic at all. Now most of the newer digi SLRs have the image stabilization built into the camera as well as the lenses so you can freehand shoot very easily however I still recommend a tripod. I know you didnt mention anything about SLR cameras but that was just an example. That blurry photo you posted looks like the cameras auto focus didnt pick up on you......it doesnt seem to be the same blur caused by a shaking camera. Then again it doesnt look like it picked up on anything closer to the camera to focus on either. Hopefully some of the other guys will have some insight.
  22. awesome pics......i sure miss the canadian shield scenery
