ha....just kiddin suckas.........cruel? yes......good way of getting people to read my post? yes lol......anyways this morning it was just pouring here so I had this theory that with the clouds so low, it'll either be snowing on seymour or it'll be a beautiful day......my theory was incorrect and seymour was a cloud.......so I headed up to mystery lake and back and took a few pics.......I also stopped at one of the smaller parking lots on my way down the mountain and took a few more pics......enjoy.... Here is just a bridge on a trail just off the mystery lake one This foggy HDR pic of mystery lake came out pretty spooky lookin I searched everywhere and found it.........the last blueberry This is on my way back down.......which way to the parking lot? Here is just a stream shot.... And another stream shot....

I'd have to guess its the big guy in the middle about a third of the way up from the bottom.........
-
really eh?..........crazy what the camera picks up that the naked eye has trouble with
-
awesome pics man. way to take advantage of the lack of light pollution where you are. I haven't seen a star in months here lol
-
both pics are HDR.......i believe the speeds were 8 seconds, 1/3 seconds......and 20 seconds for the first one......not positive tho about the middle speed......but on an overcast day at cypress im usually safe shooting 6-8 seconds without over exposing it
-
both of that same runoff stream.....I was just trying different compositions and whatnot and so forth and etc. etc.

Deano's pic of the quad got me thinkin about other promo shots and here is a picture of a Ranger Bass Boat at full tilt in Dave Chong's Fish Hard Dream Big event held in Orillia this past summer. I'm not sure who the guys in the boat are but hopefully they don't mind me posting this.....If they do PM me and I'll remove it

The rain finally quit early this afternoon and I just had to get outta the apartment. I decided to head to Cypress Falls Park again and take some photos. Here is the same scene I've shown before but today the water was raging Here is just a shot of some mist in the trees This is a runoff stream that I've never seen before and I'm guessing thats because normally when I'm there the water isnt as high as it was This is the top part of that same above runoff stream And finally this is just upstream from the previous 2 photos enjoy

For those low water and low ground shots try and get a tripod with a level on it. My tripod also has legs that fold out to about 170 degrees so I can have my camera basically an inch or 2 off the ground yet still fully stable. Now of course I don't lay on the ground to look through the view finder, I just use that bubble level to make sure the shot is straight then click away. I then check the photo on my display to see if its what I was going for.....you know like is there too much ground? is there too much sky? too far to the left? too far to the right? If i think it is either of those I reposition the camera, level it out again, then snap away. One thing that sometimes gets me is the autofocus will pick up something close to the camera and the background that I was hoping for turns out to be a blur......So for that I end up taking numerous photos just so when I get home I'm not dissapointed.

I got a fairly late start on the day today so I just hit up Deer Lake Park in nearby Burnaby for some pics. It was overcast and most of the leaves are off the trees but I still tried to make the best of it and here is what I came up with...... The start of the trail just outside of the parking lot Another section of the trail or walkway.....this pic took a while to take because there were so many people and with such a long stretch of trail it takes a while for the people to get out of the shot and by the time they do another group is walking into it.....kinda frustrating but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do The wooden walkway ends eventually and a gravel one begins.....this is one of the first fields you go through on the gravel trail....and its also tied for my favourite picture I took today Now this shot is of the Deer Lake with the North Shore mountains in the distance..... Here is a panoramic photo of almost the same area While walking through a forested area I heard that magical sound I love hearing......the sound of flowing water.... And now for my other favourite picture of the day. This is a closeup shot of the previous picture but from above. The leaves in the photo give it the autumn look I was going for. hope y'all enjoy dems pikchers

I use photoshop and I just select Enhance and then Remove Colour.......theres other things you can play around with there too
-
Yeah Deano I think adding that extra little detail really spices up a picture. Sometimes just the slightest composition change is all it takes......and of course an open mind
-
best i could come up with for now...... nature shots don't tend to make the best black and white photos.....maybe i'll start takin pics with the intention of making them black and white.......its all a big learning game lol
-
ya that Old car really gives it that added touch......im gonna see what I can come up with in B/W
-
ah the joys of a wide angle lens

To be honest I didnt like photoshopping or editing photos and I still don't. However one thing that is still true is I try to take the photo so it looks just like the scene and with HDR that becomes possible or as possible as it can be without actually being there
