  1. Hey Gerritt: I had something that sounds similar last year. Coming up the QEW and noticed no running lights when it started to get dusk. Brake and signals worked fine. Forced me to spend the night sooner than I had wanted. Fiddle-farted around quite a while checking the wires, bought a new adapter ... nothing. So I took it to a marina near camp and had them take a look. Anyway, I have a Dodge Dakota and the problem for me was a blown fuse in the truck. There were two fuse boxes, one in the cab and another under the hood. One of the fuses under the hood was blown. Replaced the fuse and wooo-hooo LIGHTS !! Hopefully it's would be something simple as this for your situation. Never even gave it a thought about a blown fuse - as the rest of the lights were working fine.
  2. That's great news Lew. My grandmother was also in her mid 80's when she had a valve replaced and she recovered very nicely. Pray that your mother does the same. What a great gift to be ever so thankful for.
  3. Hope all mothers enjoy their special day, Just remember and be thankful what each of our mothers have done for us over all the years. Take time today and let her know it. We're having my mother over for dinner tonite and I may even let her pass on helping wiht the dishes this time.
  4. Have a great summer. Hope you can stop in for the day and say howdy agan.
  5. Great report cookslav. Looks like a great spring trip.
  6. Pouring down rain and has been raining all morning. My grand-daughter plays T-ball Miracle League Network and her first game is this afternoon. Ain't gonna miss that. This league was formed last year and lets young kids with disabilities play 3 innings of T-bal. Everyone on the team bats each inning, everyone scores, and the last person up in the inning always hits a home run. Game ends in a tie. Sure is inspiring to see kids with a variety of disabilities, including wheel chairs, breathing machines, etc. play and have a great time. Ani't gonna miss it .... if the rain stops. Today ... I have a good excuse.
  7. Next week-end I am hoping to finally get out somwhere. It's about dang time too.
  8. I will feel that pain. My boat is pretty well empty and a 30 gallon fule tank. Patsy said the other day that we'lll be spending more money on gas just taking our fishing trip than the trip itself will cost. Couple this with my truck getting around 12 MPG while pulling the boat ....
  9. How's a week-end full of grandkids sound ?
  10. That looks like a fantastic place KyleM ... a little envy here. Congrats ... you'll love it there.
  11. Looking forward to the reports as well. Welcome aboard
  12. Yup .... the gloves are off now for those in the tourny. Gonna be great seeing the monsters that are caught this year.
  13. Oh yeah .. I know exatly where you're sitting. We venture back around that island for some top water action around dusk. Plenty of nice thick weeds back there.
  14. Hey Steve Paul. Where abouts do you stay in Rideau Ferry ? That's where my wife and I have been going on the Rideau for 7 or 8 years running now. We stay with Doug & Maggie Moore right there at Maple Crest near the bridge. Short walk across the road, down over the bank, to the boats.
  15. Two trips for me this year ... maybe a few around my home-town area. JUNE: Lakair GTG. (I'll have to bring my roasting marchmellows). SEPTEMBER: One week of musky fishing (hopefully catching too) then drive over to Eastern Ontario and meet up with Dad for a week of Bass fishing on the Rideau.
  16. Marriage is a relationship in which one person is always right, and the other is usually the husband. When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first: the truck, the car, e-mail, fishing, always something more important to me. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house. I was gone only a few minutes. When I came out again I handed her a toothbrush. "When you finish cutting the grass," I said, "you might as well sweep the driveway." The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.
  17. That's good to hear. Just saw it on the news this morning in Southern Virginia, so I was thinking this was south of you guys. Scarey stuff none the less ... hope nobody was hurt.
  18. Great pics TJ. Kinda reminds me a bit when we stayed on Ambergris Caye, Belieze.
  19. Great to see those scenery shots from your home-town area. Really enjoyed them. Thanks for posting.
  20. Florida rig rubber worms. We drift across the weedbeds and have pretty good success. We'll use some cranks and spinners close to shore, but we primarily drift the weeds.
  21. Very nice guys .... very nice indeed.
  22. Well ... we can add 4 more cents. Now 3.59 / Gallon.
  23. Cabin 5. Checking in Thursday around noon and hanging around until the following Thursday. Sure hope it warms up nicely for all those *%$* mosquitos.
  24. Just went up to 3.55 / Gallon here in south-central PA. My boat is sitting in the garage with a 30 gallon virtually empty gas tank. That's gonna hurt.
  25. We're all with you on this one Dave. Cancer is a nasty thing and it can be beat. Be strong and have faith. You're strength through all of this can be seen and give your father the strength he needs to fight this thing and win. I think a positive attitude and a strong will goes a long way in these cases. Our prayers are with your father.
