  1. Good on you Chris for giving that puppy a home and a wonderful life.
  2. Sorry Glen. I just checked and my fan was blowing in a southerly direction. I'll switch it around and pit it back north again. Sorry about that ..... my bad.
  3. THat's great news for the folks in that area and for the French River. Unfortunately, they'll be looking for another place now.
  4. Been hearing about this and the latest for where I am is that the worst of this is to pass to the North and West. Snow pretty well gone now around my parts ... except that which had been completely frozen. Spring is just a couple weeks away.
  5. Good deal Glen. Gald to see you're able to get out there. I'm hoping to get out myself in the next month or so. Got me a new puppy that I've got to get "boat-broken". Hope this goes better than the "House-Breaking"
  6. I'll choose the ladies watch. Such a gift may get you an extra few days of fishing this year. Congrats Chris on 25 years. Like the others, I got a watch for my 25th and entering my 29th. Before I can 'officially' retire with full benefits .... I'll have dang near 50 years in.
  7. As much stuff as you seem to 'pick up' .... you're gonna need yourself a bigger boat my friend.
  8. Good Deal and congrats. That's the way I did it many years ago. Thru the last pack in the garbage can and never picked another one up since. Good for you
  9. We're all in this together with you Chris.
  10. We get stuff like that from time to time. Once a place gets your name/address .. they think you're theirs for life and takes forever for them to go away. If we are sent something that we did not order, request, or otherwise ... we deem it to be ours without obligation to return it or pay for it. We do with it as we please ... typically file #13.
  11. That's great. Learn by example.
  12. Well, if the store would charge this friend for something he did not purchase or was charged too much ... would be complain ? Return to the store and explain what happened and go from there.
  13. It's an illness we all have bucktail. Some nice looking baits there.
  14. INcredible report Ramble. Almost like we were there with you all summer. I'm sure that took a long time to put up and I'm glad you did.
  15. That is a great read ... thanks for posting that. Never a truer statement has been said. Hoping for the best possible results from your partner's surgery and for many years of happiness for you both. Again ... great read. Thanks bud.
  16. great ride Benny. My wife loves the full windshield for those rainy and/or cold days. Now, to get some fish in that there bot.
  17. Sure is great to read a post like this ... and have a happy ending.
  18. WVFISHERM ... You hit the nail on the head with that post. That's just one of the things that separate the folks on this board from all the others. Good to have ya on board. A thought or well-wish from the other members goes a very long way.
  19. I remember Shelly. We were talking about names on the way to Ohio yesterday and came up with this name. I knew I heard that name before and remembered that your little one is also named Kea. OK. So come this June, when we're all in camp ... just remember. When any of us yells KEA or KIA. someone may very well get two dogs. We've only had her a little over 24 hours now and it sure looks like we are gonna have another great partner. I still have to get across to her that we really don't want yellow carpets ... but that will come in time.
  20. HG - Hope you buddy's surgery and recovery are complete and 1000% successful.
  21. Been thinking the same thing too. I truely hope Jack's recovery from surgery is going very well.
  22. A feast fit for a king and his family. Very nice.
  23. You are a great person Maureen for putting this all together to benefit Tyler and his family. My hat is off to you for all of your work. Too bad I live so far away - I wish I could be there and be a part of all the fun.
  24. Following the sudden departure of my long-time companion, my wife and step-daughter (on their own), started looking for another. My wife spent more time on the internet yesterday than she has combined in the last several months. My step-daughter lives in Pittsburgh and was checking the local papers. There was an Airedale breeder just a few miles away, but all she had were pure black puppies. During my afternoon nap yesterday, my wife slipped out of the house and brought one home for me to look at. She was a very nice puppy, but was just not the same as the one I had lost. I certainly appreciate what she did for me, but it's just not the same. MY step-daughter in Pittsburgh found an add for a couple in Ohio that had Airedale puppies, so she gave us the number. My wife made a couple calls and she had two females left - with the same color markings as my Nikita. We talked about it for a while and I was undecided. Was it too soon ? Would this distract from my memories of my Nikita. After some thinking, we decided to make the 3 hours trip this morning to see the puppies. One was 4 months and the other was about 6 weeks. With having a 2 1/2 year old lab, we thought the older one would be better, as the lab likes to rip and tear. Needless to say, we brought her home. It was somewhat of a rough trip as I still had mixed emotions coming and going. But, she is home now and slowy getting used to her surroundings and she had her first bath. I hope this eases the pain a bit, but I still have my devoted friend's pictures sitting around and will have a couple at work. Here's the newest member of OFC (KIA will be her name)
  25. One can only hope Deb. Nice read.
