Hi all, In the name of matching the hatch, do you use larger bait at this time of year for Walleye? That is to say, if I used a yellow grub in the spring, would I use a longer yellow grub in fall? I notice that the minnows that we buy are always the same size, do minnows stay the same size and therefore not grow as the season progresses? Thanks in advance! Jim

That sounds very fishy. Is there by chance anything we are not being told? Had to ask. I like the post about letting VISA deal with it. I would get a quote for a replacement one from any where (ebay etc.) to help the VISA types. I would also be finding out what it would cost to have a lawyer (a friend perhaps for free) give them a quick phone call or letter. Then I would start naming names on a popular fishing site on which someone might have personal knowledge of the repute of said marina. Good luck! Jim

There is a bunk type trailer on it's own (which is unusual, no?) on Trinity right across from the new Ancaster Fair grounds. Looks like it would fit a 16 - 18' boat. And a shallow tinny (12 - 14') on a trailer (no motor that I can see) on Hwy 6 between Mount Hope and Caledonia. Jim

If you knew what was in that stuff you'd be glad that it didn't come out. If you're lucky next time you won't be able to get the wiener package open as well. Jim

That is a fantastic report Mike. I can particularly relate to your bringing a friend along. It was during trips to Bobcaygeon with my friend Mike's family that I got hooked on fishing and cottaging (I was about 13 as well). Whether you or he realize it or not you are giving him fond memories that will last forever. I love to see it. Thanks again! Jim

I agree with your post, as it pertains to fishing. But this site is about way more than where the fish are biting or how to catch them. In fact, I think that it is in this regard that critics of the board misunderstand it the most. Jim

I have always wanted to see what a pro would do if dropped into a new lake without (or with I guess) a map or GPS. That is to say what is the thought process to attack a completely new lake. I think it would make a neat show and go a long way toward teaching folk where to find fish and how to catch them. Jim

This is just about my set up exactly (I didn't calculate it like that. it just ended up that way). I maight actually have 6lb Fireline and 10 lb Seaguar Flouro. on my walleye rods (med lite/fast tip, 6'-6" w/1500 size reel). Jim

Wow Simon, what a great report. I am sure that being from England, France doesn't seem like that special of a destination, but for me here it seems like quite an undertaking. I have spent loads of time in the UK and know that you guys are huge on your holidays. I have never really understood how the economics works out though. Not just for the travel, but the prices for everything as well (when looked at in terms of the wages earned). I have a question; Would your family rather spend time in France together, or travel to your spot in the great white north? Jim

One of my first posts to this board was on this very subject, and I received all sorts of great advice. What I have found to be the most handy are snacks and drinks (which is a whole thread unto itself). Also, electrical tape and a multi-tool (in case you run into someone with a Lund that needs a hand). And as dopey as they look, you have got to get yourself a hat light. Jim
