  1. Hey Jonnyb, Jeff and his team are great on the ice, I would certainly not take that away from them. We've also had some great days so far this year. It's not about me or Jeff, it's about guys getting out and having a good time. Better than a day in the office. Cheers, Hodgey...
  2. Hey guys, The Quinte is starting to heat up, ice is relatively safe in most areas. Use caution in current areas as they tend to be much weaker. Here are a few pics to get you interested in the Bay of Quinte  If you are interested in any tips or have any questions just send me a PM. Be safe out there and have fun... Cheers, Hodgey... Here's what happens when you're passionate enough to actually try and kiss and 1lb walleye...and it's bites you on the lip!! LOL
  3. Great job guys, glad to see we were not the only ones catching fish. Yah, Lloyd certainly knows how to fish the Bay... Cheers, Hodgey...
  4. All but 1 of those Walleye were released. The fight off the boards is typically slow enough that they're ok. We typically try to stay away from the kill zone...but it's hard. For me, anything down lower than 40' starts to become an issue. Cheers, Hodgey...
  5. We hit the water again today. With the bad winds forecasted on Saturday we opted for the calmer of the two days, Sunday. Boy was that the right choice.... the Walleye were on "FIRE". Water temps east of the ferry were 52F and West of the Ferry were 48F. Winds started West @ 20Km, with it diminishing West @ 10Km by 3:00pm. Our day started @ 7:00am East of the ferry....the fire works started within ten minutes and lasted until 1:00pm (We wanted to get a few hours of jigging in.) We lost count @ 15 Walleye with multiple double headers and a tripled header....even a walleye hit while the line was in my hand...the board wasn't even out yet. We easily landed over 20 Walleye with 6 over 10lbs, the biggest being a 12lber. All fish came on an assortment of Reef Runners, down approx 45'. We did jig for a few hours and got a handful of eaters, a really good 3lb smallie and a Channel Cat. All in all a pretty good day. Cheers, G2Angling...
  6. Yah, that was us. Send me a PM and I'll share all you need. Cheers, Hdgey...
  7. Hey Gents, We were out on Quinte with a few guys over the weekend, we had a great weekend of fishing; we hit multiple species Smallies, Sheephead, Silver Bass, Channel Cat, Pike, Perch…..and yes a ton Walleye. In most areas of the Bay the water temp was 48ºF to 52ºF, with winds from SW @ 5km/hr to W @ 35km/hr. The Trolling for us was best around Thomson’s Point to Sherman’s Pt…trolling bite was pretty good, we hit numerous Walleye with a few solid 10lbers, best bait was Blue/Silver Reef Runner, with a few on the Iridescent Reef Runner. Each morning we trolled for a few hours and then turned to the jig bite…..and boy did we catch a lot of Walleye. We hit over 150 Walleye (over 2 days) jigging with a few around 10lbs, but most of them from 1.5lbs to 3lbs (Great eaters). While jigging, we also hit multiple species from a few of our Hot Spots…including a 12lb Channel Cat and a 3.5lb Smallie. Those of you who only troll are really missing out...Yes, trolling is a great way to hit big Walleye, however if you know how to target Bay of Quinte walleye, you can catch big walleye like we did......and it's WAY more fun. Happy trolling LOL Here are a few pics. Cheers, Hodgey…
  8. Hey Dizzidevil, I assume you fish from a boat? Most Walleye are still suspended in deep water or off the end of deel weedlines. But the resident Walleye can still be jigged with 3/8oz Jigs & twister tails or jigs tipped with Gulp. The best bet is to use crankbaits along the edge of the weedlines, it is on FIRE right now. Drop me a PM. Cheers, Hodgey...
  9. Hey Gents, Headed out today to get the last minute bugs worked out in my Walleye patterns on the Bay (My partner Grant was moving, so I was on my own). Not only did I get them worked out, but I manged to figure out two new AMAZING patterns that really turned the Walleye on. Ended the day with 12 Walleye mostly 4 to 5lbers an 8.5lber and 9.8lber, also managed to hit 11 Largemouth, including two 5 lbers, I know the "Quinte Classic" guys would have loved them, as they were zooming all over the place today. Enjoy the pics. My batteries died in the camera so no pictures of the 5lb buckets. BTW - I took a few minutes to also see if the Walleye were starting to stack up out in the deep water....check out the Lowrance picture Cheers, Hodgey...
  10. Hey guys, Looking to hit Niagara on Sunday, any idea what the conditions are? Water clarity, are the Steelies hitting, are the Lakers on the Bar? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Hodgey...
