Those look like simple rubber "O" rings, available at most hardware/plumbing stores. I would measure the Outer Diameter of the male part and find a suitable "O" ring. I'm assuming it'll be the same part for the Female end of the connector, possibly a different diameter.

Never been on LPB, but generally the North Shore of Erie is not the place to be with winds from the South. Taking a look on Google Maps, a SW wind is your best bet if the winds are from the South. SE would be deadly, but you've got the 'Point' blocking the SW. Just depends on how easily the Bay gets rolling.

You will want something that doesn't get it's map data over the network. I do not know of any offhand. Apps like Google Maps download all the data over the air so if you're in the bush without 3G, or worse yet, no signal at all, you're outta luck!

Here's some pics from last weeks vacation And finally, my Buddie's Dad with a monster 6lbr

I would take the rod with you and mout both reels to see which balances better. Take into account the weight of the line you'll be putting on (maybe 1oz for the 1000, more for the 2500). I'm going to guess the 1000 will balance better, but it will depend on the weight of the components you had it built with.

Thanks everyone! I hope to continue the trend on Monday when we leave for 5 days of trophy bass fishing. It's a Texas rigged Sweet Beaver topped off with a Punch Skirt and 3/8oz Tungsten weight.

Since I'm not really at liberty to discuss any of the bodies of water I fish, i usually don't post reports. Just thought I'd post some pictures for everyone's perusal.

deep and slow! bass get lethargic with the changing barometer and the deeper water stays a more consistent temperature.

The two bearings supporting the spool shaft are the most important ones in the reel. My longest casting reel is a Calctta TE100GT with Boca Orange Seals for the spool. The rest of the bearings are just to make the retrieve smoother, mainly the pinion and drive shaft support bearings. Next would be worm gear bearing (most reels have a bushing here) and handle knob bearings. More bearings == more money, but not necessarily better performance. A graphite framed baitcaster will not be able to hold all those bearings in alignment under load. manufacturing tolerances also play a big part in the performance of a reel.

I wish people would keep more carp. Whether they eat them or not I could care a less. Just get them out of my bass water!

Falcon weedless weighted "k" hook in 3/32oz or 1/16oz

Welcome! Saw your earlier post on the Harbor. PM Sent.

It doesn't bother me, but I can see where people are coming from. You're posting Shimano marketing material and you just happen to work for Daver Mercer who is sponsored by Shimano. Again, I don't care. You won't find a rod or reel in my quiver that's not a Shimano/Loomis product. Maybe a disclaimer would help?
-
Hey Ryan, can you confirm that it's going to be less than $100 CAD? I'm pretty sure that $89 is USD. Shimano always up the price by 30-$50 when it comes north of the border.

Have fun trolling a magnum dipsy behind your Yak. Hope you've been going to the gym regularly!

I could never limit myself to one or the other. Both have their merits. Spinning is great for weightless baits, vertical fishing, skipping under docks and trees. Baitcasters have their place too, throwing big baits with big line, slop fishing, burning baits, and pulling fish out of nasty cover.

Beauty shot of the double header! What make are those poppers?
-
The jacket was a nice touch, definately made the purchase easier to swallow. And are you saying you had one in your hands and didn't walk out of the store with it? Crazy talk! I guess one day on the water isn't enough to say it's the best blank in the world, but I can tell you it is the most sensitive rod I had ever used. And I have some pretty nice rods to compare it to.
-
What's the point of a custom rod if you can't utilize the best blank in the world? The tapers and actions are customized for technique specific uses, add on the hybrid guide system, custom reel seat and no 'custom' rod will come close to a NRX.
-
With the NRX you get this "wild card" thig, which entitles you to one over the counter, no questions asked replacement, along side the lifetime warranty from manufacturers defects.

Guilty! I missed the Friday night launch due to a day trip to quinte, but I was in fishing world first thing Saturday morning picking up a 853c. I can pretty much echo everything Marvin said!
