  1. Makes me curious to try some other braids...I've only ever used PP, I hate the bleeding... As far as Leaders go, Floro's great for just about all casting applications...Stiff wire is sometimes desirable for Jerkbaits and Gliders. There are times when using Floro is totally irresponsible, Trolling rocking water when bottom contact is a possibility, and Jigging in a river situation when bottom contact is obvious.
  2. Nice! Going myself tomorrow...Be happy tp catch half as many as you did!
  3. 50 lb. Floro is too light to use as a Muskie Leader. 130 lb. as a minimum. If your leader is cut you will lose an expensive lure and WE will lose a fish.
  4. 10" Jake in Orange Tiger trolled anywhere in the north end... Hint-Muskie friendly net or Cradle, hook cutters... Hint-Troll the north and west side of Big Island, and all around Dropping Reef...
  5. Most Muskie guys have way too many lures...Me included. Its tough to pick one, but a black(skirt) and orange(blade) inline spinner(bucktail) especially a Double 10 bladed one would be a good choice. An appropriate sized Spinnerbait would probably be the most versatile though... Here's my top 5 as per Mike's post... Black/Orange Handlebarz Double 10 Lac Seul Turbo (similar to a Topraider but better, colour unimportant on surface lure IMO) Hellhound (custom colours by Bare Bones Baits are so much nicer than factory) Orange Tiger 10" Jake 4 oz Beaver Lures Tri-spin Spinnerbait (black and gold)
  6. Nice Fish! Nasty hold...
  7. Long time, no see... Walleye eh? You know if its food you want you can buy 'em at the grocery store!

  9. Congrats on a beauty fish! Thanks for releasing her!
  10. Spend Sunday afternoon at the Hamilton Airshow, took some pictures of the vintage Warplanes. The star of the show, the Avro Lancaster, one of only two left flying...The other is in the U.K. Probably one of the most famous of all WWII fighters, the Supermarine Spitfire! B-25 Mitchell A nice polished up B-17 Flying Fortress... P-51 Mustang FG-1D Corsair There were 8 Harvard Trainers there, they put on a great show...
  11. Beautiful fish!
  12. Seems like you already found the answer...
  13. The French River Provincial Park map is the best you'll find. Its uncharted water, but thats part of the appeal isn't it?
  14. Doesn't matter who was born where...Vancouver is the CANADIAN Team. Boston's got the heart, and they deserve to hoist Lord Stanley Wed. GO CANUCKS GO!
  15. Nice fish Joey!
  16. I'd never buy a Princecraft, a friend had one, the windshield kept breaking due to a frame problem and they told him to lump it!
  17. Seriously, go to Bay City Marine in Hamilton. Price out an similar Alumacraft with a 4-stroke Yamaha...
  18. I believe there are 2 St.Croix Premier Muskie series rods in a 2-piece.
  19. Lots of boats targeting Bass on Pigeon Lake this weekend...
  20. Nearly as effective as the ol' double eye hold, the lesser but still effective 'needle nose lip grip'!
  21. I'll be on Pigeon, likely south end. Not in my boat but Bruno's grey Lund with a shinny new Yamaha F70!
  22. 2005 Nissan Xterra, not a station wagon, full frame, solid rear axle...almost 200,000 kms, still drives like new...Money spend on it...Almost nothing.
  23. The Curado 301E will NOT hold enough line for Salmon fishing, especially for fishing with Dipseys. I'm not sure the Stradic will be much better. You will need to fish the Dipseys back at least 100 feet, maybe as much as 200 feet and big Salmon could easily strip 200-300 feet of line from your reel. Shimano TDRs are decent inexpensive rods, they work well both as downrigger rods or with Dipsey Divers. Okuma Magda reels in the 30-45 size are inexpensive reels that will hold enough line and do the job.
