  1. Some good advice from Mr. P
  2. Pigeon is quiet that time of year...When I used to be up there in October there were always boats fishing Walleye on the shelf at Birch pt. on the top of Boyd Island.
  3. This report is exactly like my Muskie season! LMAO
  4. Very sad, tragic and all too common...
  5. I hope I fair better Lew, leaving in the AM for a week on the Ottawa. I agree with your sentiments but I've had far too many trips without a Muskie! What happened to Lakair?
  6. Oh my that is nice!
  7. I too had an appt. with Dr. Summerof and plan to fish as much as possible. Come down and join me for a day of Bassin on Erie sometime Cliff.
  8. Techically you only need your passport if you land on US soil. I frequently fish NY waters and seldom worry about having my passport. That being said a buddy once asked an immigration officer we saw in Gander Mountain if he needed a Passport while fishing NY water, the guys answer was,"why not bring it, you never know who may stop you and ask for it"
  9. .25...? Who measures to a 1/4"??? REALLY MATT?
  10. I wear inflatable underwear.
  11. I agree! I'm going after some tomorrow though...South shore of Lake Erie!
  12. See you in two weeks Matt, I assume you'll stop by the Rouleau for a beer?
  13. It can be done with a powerdrive/V2/Terrova. The fact that the shaft slides up and down through the steering housing is the problem, you cannot secure the cable to the shaft. Get a Minn Kota trandsducer mount, one tie strap at the vertical collar of the nose cone and then the cable has to free float the rest of the way. I have mine running under/through the space under the quick release bracket. It seem like a poor way to do it but it works quite well. after stowing the motor you pull the slack in. A certain amount of care should be used as you stow the motor into its final position as to not 'pinch' the cable. Or you could get a US2. lol
  14. Good advice from Pikeslayer. If you're an inexperienced boater take someone along that can help and offer advice. If backing up a trailer is something new, do yourself a favour and find an empty parking lot and practice! A busy boat launch is no place to begin. Worry about the fishing later. Take the boat out, get used to it, figure things out.
  15. Here's what I'm using Mike, worked well now for 4 years...On sale too! http://www.basspro.com/ProMariner-ProSport-Series-Onboard-Marine-Battery-Chargers/product/97825/
  16. Lemme guess, you're voting PC?
  17. We ALL need to NEVER forget the sacrifices made by those young men.
  18. I'd get a good telephoto lens and make it my new hobby to build a case and have 'em busted!
  19. One year I was on the Lower French, meant to make the run upstream to see those rapids...Once a paddler, always a paddler!
  20. Great report! Chaudiere is a great Lodge and Steve is a gracious host, I highly recomend it to anyone looking for a nice getaway! Which rapid was that?
  21. Your plans sound very similar to mine! Maybe I'll see you out there!
  22. Thats a typical fishing boat. 4 yr old shouldn't be unattended while boat is underway.
  23. Wouldn't it be nice if whoever did this was caught and charged, regardless of ethnicity.
  24. Hogwash, St.Croix has the most extensive line up of rods out there, backed by an excellent warranty and customer service record. Nobody says YOU have to use them, but calling St.Croix pure crap is just...well pure crap!
