I was going to recomend at least 24v/80 lbs trust. Don't make the mistake of getting an underpowered electric. Shaft length is important too, 48" might be ok on perfectly flat water but will be popping out of the water in a chop.

I have a light 16' Lund Sendero (1000 lb. hull) and I put a Yamaha F90 on it in 2005, never had any issues...It performed great with an Aluminum 21P prop, and even better with a SS 19P. I was concerned about the weight when I purchased the motor...Anyway, I would be very unhappy with a dealer that sold me a package that performed that way...Definately get in out on calm water, better yet take the dealer with you! Maybe call another dealer...

One of the nice things about the Terrova is it can't be activated while in the stowed position! Thanks guys

I'm doing some rebuilding on the boat and was considering removing the plug for my Terrova, only concern is even though I commonly leave it plugged in while charging the batteries, I've heard you shouldn't...Obviously it won't be possible if I hard wire the thing...Opinions?

One thing you shouldn't do is drain the lower unit and leave it stored empty...The oil protects the parts even when its not running.
