  1. Horsepower is no substitute for common-sense when it comes to boating on the Great Lakes! The fastest boat in the world won't get you out of trouble if you're stupid.
  2. A good guide for power is having at least 2/3 of the Max HP rating of the boat. For example, if the boat is rated to 90 hp, then 60 hp would be the minimum.
  3. Great work Guys! I remember how long my first Steelie was in coming... Course that was 20 years ago! Dam I'm gettin' old!
  4. Thanks for posting that!
  5. Nice Rainbow! How do we know its you? LOL
  6. Classic Rock Always been a huge CCR fan. Thats Creedence Clearwater Revival for you kids... Neil Young John Lennon(and his old Band) David Lindley Stevie Ray Vaughn Tom Petty ELO Hoyt Axton Underated? hmmm. Can't think of any...
  7. I have the LMS-332c, great unit, no complaints. I have the external antenna, I had some reception problems by placing the antenna in front of the windshield. Moved it to the back of the boat and I get great reception. I moved the antenna around quite abit in figuring out the reception problems and realized how much antenna placement effects the reception. Bottom line, if you get the internal antenna you won't have the option of moving the antenna! I was unsure of with model to get, 332 or 334, now after the reception issues i'm sure glad I went with the puck!
  8. Ross, get the power handle for the Abu, I think it'll be a much better Muskie reel with it.
  9. Welcome, nice Steelhead! Looks like a fish-eye view of somebody smokin' crack!
  10. Duty charges are hit and miss...I don't think there is any way to know whether mail-order from the states will get dinged for duty or not. Its a lottery.
  11. I don't know about the locks Lew, but I have the Ram mount on my console unit and its great, brings the unit up and into a perfect location for viewing/using.

  13. WOW! The legend lives on from the chippewa on down Of the big lake they called gitche gumee The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead When the skies of november turn gloomy With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more Than the edmund fitzgerald weighed empty. That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed When the gales of november came early.
  14. "your licsense dollars go towards putting them back into the lake". So why is the Pacific Salmon fishery in Lake Ontario now dependant on volunteers working the Ringwood Hatchery?
  15. Looks like a "classic" in-line Bucktail. I've never seen one like that, but a Bucktail is probably one of the original Muskie lures, been around awhile i imagine.
  16. I will gladly donate one new Muskie lure to the next/best picture of this particular boat, anyone else?
  17. Thats a gorgeous place you got there!
