  1. Alot of Muskie guys do it. The main reason is to catch floating weeds on the rod tips instead of them sliding down the line and fowling the lures. It will also aid in getting the lure alittle bit deeper!
  2. Users like Lew are what make OFC such a great site!
  3. Port Dalhousie will be doable, no docks though...
  4. I picked up one of the single bladed ones at the TO fishing show, the price was right, but its probably a 1-Muskie lure as Its not very heavy-duty and I doubt it will stand up to the abuse of the fight.
  5. Correct Fishmaster, that pic was just past Charles Daley heading west...You can see the Beacon(used to be the family business) in the top right corner!
  6. Jigger, it just takes alittle practice, I started with the tail hold too... One of the great things about a BIG pen net is there's no hurry...Lots of time to get acquainted, just becareful of the Gills and TEETH!
  7. I got out a few times last year, got a few fish with in-line planer boards early, then a couple fish in August off the Rigger and off Dipsey's...Got a second rigger for this year, and some more rods, planning to do more of it since i'm minutes away from Lake O.
  8. The Chinook fishery in Lake O has improved quite abit the last few years, last year was considered a good year for size and numbers, and this year is expected to be even better!
  9. Hey Jigger, thats a nice one! Get comfortable with the gil-plate and belly hold and you will get a nicer pic!
  10. Trolling for Spring Browns and Chinnooks on Lake O SOON!
  11. Since you asked Crusty, It was a casting fish. Hit a Topraider about 40 feet from the boat. First fish on a surface bait. Definately one of my best fishing experiences to date!
  12. My biggest last year! Also my biggest ever! Pushing 25 lbs. I think...
  13. Widely considered to be "the" Muskie reel. If its the 4:1 gear ratio it will make an excellent trolling reel, but will still retrieve at a good rate due to the large spool diametre. If its a 5:1 gear ratio it will burn Bucktails like no other reel. Downside, its dern big and heavy for all day casting sessions!
  14. I like the ones that require a 4x4 to launch and there's no parking lot and no need for one!
  15. Are you perhaps refering the the "Rumbler"? Steve at JB's hadn't even heard of them at the Fishing show, apparently Dick Pearson's best surface bait in '06. I want one!
  16. Thanks Wayne! I was hoping for some more specific advice...I figured it was one of those things!
  17. Since about the time I upgraded to my 05 Yamaha F90 I've had a 2-3 second delay between turning the key to START and the starter engaging. Not been a big problem till this fall when a few times there has been no starter engagement. If I turn the key a few times eventually it fires... Any mechanics out there?
  18. 1-2 hours won't get you much farther than the Kawarthas...
