  1. Another awesome adventure! You've got a knack for catching those backlake brookies for sure!
  2. 25" and FAT, not bad for a lake about a km long. Found a few of these tasty land critters on the way there too
  3. Here are some pics from my fall fishing adventures scattered around the various stocked lakes in my area. Small lakes will likely be skimmed over this week, so I think my next trip will be of the hardwater variety! Lakers...Didnt spend too much time on them as there is only one yr-round laker lake in my area but it produced some real nice ones for me this year. They were post-spawn and voracious! Rainbows...the inland bows have been a struggle for me to catch with any consistency but I believe Im starting to get them dialed in relatively well. Post turnover in the fall seems to be the hot time of year for them. Splake...My last two trips were targeting splake. No big fish, but the numbers were off the charts! 35-ish fish over 2 trips, trolling and casting in shallow water. Didnt make time for brookies this Oct/Nov but they will be priority once the lakes firm up!
  4. I fry them the same way as I do walleye or perch, turns out excellent!

  6. Yep, but the peanut gallery of people that know nothing about the lake will be out in full force yet again. I can't wait to get in a couple trips and lay an absolute smackdown on the walleye
  7. ...it would probably still be a world record, believe it or not.
  8. Very decent bows for sure! The rainbow bite has been great lately! How were you catching them? We usually use small harnesses and a worm slow trolled over deep water (30-50 ft)
  9. Funcrusher Plus is pure brilliance tho, but I get the sentiment.
  10. Funny how the ling was caught during the day, and the rainbow after dark... This happened 6 yrs ago btw The ling bite is just starting up here for the winter.
  11. Awesome, Rick, looks like the walleye are real thick. That spot must produce plenty of walleye throughout the summer with those depths? Sauger at least in the summer? The trout have been on fire here as well!
  12. Hahahahahaha that's amazing. Man I need to get on this album tonight
  13. Have a couple HMX's...love them both. They are a little fragile (I've broke a couple) but they are definitely tougher than the HMG lineup, and really, that's the price you pay for a good sensitive blank anyways. Get the ML if she'll be doing more live bait type slow presentations, and the MH for fishing artificials in heavier structure.

  15. I run 33" summers, and 30" winters. Never had any issues. My front end is aligned for the 33's so I may be improperly wearing my winters, but the difference between those two sizes is basically negligible.
  16. You did well...thats a great family trip for sure!
  17. When they poured across the borderI was cautioned to surrenderThis I could not doI took my gun and vanished.I have changed my name so oftenI've lost my wife and childrenBut I have many friendsAnd some of them are with meAn old woman gave us shelterKept us hidden in the garretThen the soldiers cameShe died without a whisperThere were three of us this morningI'm the only one this eveningBut I must go onThe frontiers are my prison
  18. So falleye finally showed up...nice fish man.
  19. Haven't we figured out what happens when these discussions pop up? This is becoming sad.
  20. Tons of amazing footage there, wow...Love the float tube brookies especially, are you trout fishing in On or Qc?
  21. Lake O marinas hold lots of big pike, plenty of 40" pike around. My favourite technique used to be jerkbaits, my favourite was a suspending husky jerk. Cast it out, jerk jerk, and loooooong pauses, I have watched a pike stare at a suspending jerk bait for over ten seconds before deciding to hit it. Spoons like wabblers will definitely work and dead bait under a float is a good choice as well, but I've never found anything more effective than a jerkbait.
