  1. Yikes is right! Manitou, I don't know you from a hole in the wall, but hearing that kind of new is saddening. Sorry pal...... No one deserves that. My prayers are with you, and all who grieve from these thoughtless humans.
  2. Been wearing Baffin base and mid layers for a few seasons now. Never knew what I was missing! Never go w/o ever again.
  3. Pretty crappy reality you guys all speak of. A shame, but life it is.
  4. Hahaaa. That is just plain awesome! Didn't appear to be a fish of great size, but just goes to show what happens when you're not ready.
  5. I'd have to agree, although I can't say I've landed many eyes, but, the bigger pike I've landed, would be my choice to hit the pan, over the eyes. Awesome looking tiger Op! Such crisp lines make for great photos.
  6. I was the same way bud..... Hoping it would just eventually go away. Having a head that felt like a medicine ball some days..... Enough was enough..... I'm actually starting to remember how nice summer really is. Best of luck in the future.
  7. I second this suggestion. I have sinusitis myself, and last year was determined to rid myself of the Bull. I use the Neti-pot, but there are several variations. I'm currently using the squeeze bottle type. Awesome for daily use, and totally clear the sinuses. I even have my 6 yr old using it once in a while, when he comes home sniffling. Aside from that, I went for the allergy prick test, and have been on shots for almost a year now. I can't believe the difference. And it's only gonna improve from here on in. So, Ironmaker, get the squeeze style Neti-pot, follow the directions, and see how that works. Nevermind the Bull OTC crap you buy. Theres also a nasal spray I was prescribed that you may want to inquire about. It's called OMNARIS, and I use it INFREQUENTLY, when I feel a slight sniffle. Good luck ny man! I feel (felt) your pain once.
  8. As others said, it was legal! Fair and square. As for the "victory dance", I could only find one video shy of two minutes, but from what I saw, it's no different than any hunter/fisherman on TV after scoring a trophy kill/catch. Kudos to him. Doesn't bother me one bit. I was actually impressed by it.
  9. I'd love to see some pics of this Ironmaker. I have a 16' tinny, and have limited space for rods.
  10. Go get your motor. Ask on this board, may e some of the folks here know the issue and could steer you in the right direction. I've come to learn, these motors arent rocket science. And unless something major, or requiring special tools, my motors won't see a marine mechanic.
  11. Hang it from a few links of chain directly under the taillight.
  12. Great link for those with FB.......
  13. Pete if you're interested, to wrap your guides, I have a full roll of fireman's hose. When im doing mine, I'll be using this stuff, as I hear it's the crap. Both for durability, and slickness when wet.
  14. Well thanks boys.... Sure puts my mind at ease hearing from other sources. Thankfully EC, this is my spare motor, so the fishins being done, while this one is gettin fixed. Just a note to any who may be reading this thread, this motor will probably be up for sale once I get it running. The lower unit has been rebuilt, and just waiting to go on, once this is done. I will confirm cylinder pressures, but before going out of service, I checked and they were 145psi a piece. Just a little tidbit of its history. Also, it's a 1990, remote start, long shaft.
  15. Thanks for showing them Dan. But yeah Cliff, I'm a tradesman myself and have no issues if it was straightforward, but as Dan said, you aren't able to use any devices while the flywheels on. I appreciate your input nonetheless my friend. So Dan, with my 2 other suggestions, and yours, which route would you go? I was gonna bring a "Slim Jim" home tonight, and see if I could wrap it around all 3 parts. Being thin and flexible, I'm hoping it may do the job.
  16. Thanks for the tip Dan. I'll have a look at that tonight. What I never checked was if if I could set the trigger, and see if the flywheel would sit low enough by hand to check the gap. I doubt it, but your idea sounds plausible and the route I'll most likely take. After a little research, another method was wrapping a flexible piece of strapping around the stator and charge coil possibly simulating the locator ring. Other than that, I've also heard of wiping the trigger face with tire crayon and go from there. Your thoughts?
  17. Hey guys, I have a '90 Johnson 30 hp that I'm installing a new trigger on. Problem is, the sensor has elongated holes, and I've read it needs to be spaced properly (0.010" - 0.020") away from the flywheel. Point being, from factory, they use what is called a "locator ring" to simulate the flywheel while it's off, so this air gap can be properly set. A long shot here, but would anyone here possibly have this tool to loan out?? Part number is 553-4994 fingers crossed...... If not, has anyone done this job without using it???
  18. Besides the fuse being blown, check the terminal tightness for that specific fuse. It blew for a reason, too bad you don't know THAT......
  19. As if that helmet would have helped anything had he missed!! Lol
  20. Looked like a great day of fishing to me Dave! Great photos. As for the diagnosis Pete, Art has it bang on. Youre just missing the crank signal to the starter. Loose, corroded wire. After that, relays and wiring get involved....but I doubt that. Good luck buddy
  21. I was gonna make a trip near the area, and in Google maps, this place came up....soooo, being a bbq lover, I said I had to try it. Anyhow, plans changed, I didn't end up that way, but after seeing this testimonial, I think a road trip is in order. My lips are already puckering......
  22. It's exactly what I do. Save those little packets you get when you can! I dump a few in my ice fishing tackle trays. No issues!
  23. I think you get the idea. No difference at all. Just more of a challenge tossing lighter baits against the wind. (With either style) I enjoy my Cardiff over my low pro though.
  24. Not that good a result, but I found the same thing today.... all my fish came on wacky rigged senkos. The rain eventually pushed us off the lake.
  25. How sweet it is! Walking out your backdoor to a lake front! Congrats on both!
