  1. Drill a hole maybe 6inches down and fill with water. Put your transducer in it and it will go right through the ice Quick and dirty way to see the bottom without all the work.
  2. My portable GPS has all my secret whitie hotspots Really helps for fishing when it's a blizzard out as well, lol I never go out on the ice without it.
  3. Mike, I Really like that 12' CTS! Soooo light. MuskyMike: Around the $600 range if I'm not mistaken. Nice to see Adam using his last name for a reel. I think we suggested that to him last year over a 12pack of Canadas finest, lol!!!
  4. Nah, moving my sister this weekend from London to Barrie. I might get out in the new boat on Sunday with the oldman however, we'll see.
  5. You could use way more then 50 yards of backing depending on how deep the spool is... Alot of guys use Dacron as well.
  6. I was referring to ice fishing, lol!!! Can't do anything about the floatilla out there in the spring
  7. That looks like a leopard seal to me.. Definitely not a polar bear. No claws are visible and it takes off with a big swoosh at the end. Definitely a seal of some kind.
  8. I like the guys that see you land a whitefish out on Simcoe and park their asses 20ft away from you..
  9. Sweet reel! Definitely some bling bling going on.
  10. Definitely not a place with a lot of IT jobs.. I would make sure you have something lined up before you even think of moving.
  11. Roy, they sell bare big heads there? I dunno if I wanna get into the whole making them myself thing. I don't plan on making hundreds of them, just a few for personal use
  12. That is one feature packed little camera, lol.
  13. I'll take a look for that stuff the next time I'm there, thanks bud!
  14. Right on man! Only thing I'm unsure about is the paint for the jighead itself (and maybe the small stick on eyes) I've got most of the tying materials (Or can pickup whatever I need in the city).. It's the paint that's got me confused.
  15. I wouldn't have been so nice, I would have told him to (insert nasty word here)
  16. I hate losing $5 jigflies, I gotta start making my own Those fish aren't too picky. I just need to find some bare bullet/darter head jigs with hooks and go from there.
  17. Also remember that windchill will not affect the propane It's rare the ambient temp gets super cold out on Simcoe, it's usually the wind that kills you.
  18. It's starts to add up when you destroy them one after the other, lol!!!
  19. Ah, cause I was going to ask for your GPS co-ordinates if that was the case :)
  20. What kind of whities and lakers are you catching that you can't get through a 8in hole, especially in Simcoe?
  21. You'll never get an underwater P&S camera with high optical zoom. Gotta remember that the lens needs to stay inside the housing and this really limits the zoom. The odds are you aren't going to be taking a lot of ISO 1600 pics, so the Lumix would be the choice for me. I just destroyed another Canon SD1400 due to water.(My third) I won't be buying another one, lol!!!
  22. I gotta get some jig moulds and tie up some flies for next summer!
