    Roe

Thanks Dad for the grammar lesson, I appreciate it.
  2. We don't need triploids here, leave those mutants to the guys in Western Canada and the yanks.
  3. Ice spikes to pull yourself out of the drink incase you go for a swim..
  4. They still develop eggs, regardless if they are stocked or wild fish.
  5. Think of all the stocked brownies on the southern shore of Lake O.. They go into the rivers to spawn just like the wild fish, no difference.
  6. You guys make this way more complicated than it actually is.
  7. I wish we didn't put the boat away already, I'd love to try my luck at jigging some smallies up.
  8. Way too much steelheading to be done to be thinking of ice fishing just yet!
  9. Jam bags are good! Don't worry about it. Giant stinky nasty bombs are awesome in cold/dirty water situations.
  10. Yup, I make sure there's no blood or crap on them, then dry them on a baking sheet until they are a bit tacky. Then seal and freeze them. I add nothing at all. I know a lot of guys that do cure, I think it's all personal preference.
  11. No need to cure them. Do you have a vacuum pack machine? If not do this... Store about 1 days fishing worth of roe in a ziplock bag. Suck out the excess air with a straw.. Store all those smaller separate bags in a bigger ziplock.. Use the straw trick with that big bag as well. What this does is only allow you to defrost as much roe as you need. Need to tie some bags? Remove one of the smaller ziplocks and defrost only that.. No point in defrosting then refreezing all your roe because you gotta tie up 20-30bags for a day of fishing.
  12. I was going to say Jer, I hope you weren't going to read this, lol! Also, I was going to show you the custom transducer cover the previous owner put on the boat so it doesn't splash all over the place when going WOT. It's pretty slick.
  13. You can also get the same thing if you are trying to reel in under high load. Same idea, the reel is flexing and things that are not supposed to touch, do.

Get all your roe from dirty stockers south of the border. /Ethical committee.
  15. Clamp down on the reel when the fish is running = torque. Some reels under this circumstance will flex.. This is what Mike is getting at.
  16. If it knows where to crap and doesn't bug up your furniture you're already one step ahead of the game. Kids would be devistated, think about your family pet when you were kid.. Imagine getting that taken away?

No need to cure it, just tie it up and you're golden.
  18. I like slow rods (Loomis IM6, IMX, Sage GSII, etc) they suit my style (I like to rip the fishes face off with the hookset) But again I've fished a few XST's and CTS's and enjoy them as well. Although I think I enjoyed the lightness more then the snappy fast action.
  19. GLX prototype + Clough Elite! There ya go, no one can argue that, lol! Rods and reels are all personal preference, everyone will have a different opinion.
  20. Absolutely love steelheading, my latest addiction is capturing them so I can look back and relive those special moments over and over. I think I'll be making a new lens purchase in the near future (24-70) which should be lots of fun! All these were taken with a Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM.. Easily one of my favourite lenses!!! GBay Steel. Some Frogwater porn. Another Gbay beauty. Some Huron action. ..and finally I step out from behind the camera and into the limelight, lol. This thing was a cow!!!!
  21. Speaking of Tim Hortons, we should get them to be one of the sponsers for the Fishing for Tyler even this year. I'm sure they'd be up for it.
