  1. If you can see them, they can see you, I wouldn't waste my time trying to catch steelies in 2ft of riffle water. Keep walking until you find some deeper pools/runs.
  2. A medium spinning outfit, some 12lb braid some jigs and half a shrimp.. Should be able to catch all kinds of stuff right off the beach.
  3. Paul, was an awesome day! Thanks for the cigar! I wish I could have stuck around a bit longer!
  4. That's the Catt. The NYS steelhead fishery is doomed!
  5. Tonka.
  6. Chris, Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS3!!! Make sure you check it out!
  7. I don't have any crazy superstitions, lol. Some of these are pretty interesting..
  8. Yeah, browns aren't really jumpers.. Total bulldogs.. Awesome fish!
  9. Then you get to walk out of the bush in the dark, lol. That's always fun!
  10. Ariens, no doubt.
  11. I get my flyrod fix by tossing big streamers for resident browns and brookies on dries. I don't think I'll be fishing for steelies with anything other then a pin for a while, doesn't appeal to me very much to be honest.
  12. Great way to stop the local cats from crapping in your gardens :) Built in home security!
  13. Brown or Atlantic, it's a great fish!
  14. Time to trade in the centerpin for a 8wt, indicators and sucker spawn, lol!!!
  15. Sell little dog, buy wolf! Problem solved :) Congrats on the new place, I love visiting my parents place north of Barrie. Always something interesting in the back yard!
  16. Give me muddy waters on the drop anyday!
  17. Brian, I wasn't too upset about getting skunked today. Great way to spend a few hours, weather was awesome! Although we need some rain for another push of fish!
  18. Dude, I've got nothing against anybody, I'm just saying comparing a fish that doesn't even have a open season (Atlantics in the Credit) to taking a pic of a 0 possession limit fish (UC brownie) is a bit of a stretch. Hell, if I caught an Atlantic you bet your ass I'd take picture of it :) MNR come get me! lol
  19. I was assuming you were fishing the slower sections of the river near the beach. I always use shot, but if I'm fishing slower water my last shot will be just above my leader, I won't have any shot on the leader itself. If I am fishing faster water that requires my rig to get down quickly, I'll A) run a bigger float with more shot to get things down quick and Usually run a few dust shot maybe 18-20inches up from my hook. I was also out today and had one blow up and that's it.. So sometimes the fish just aren't there
  20. If he's not on your property, I don't think there is anything you can do. And to be honest, you moved to the country, what did you expect? Don't leave the dog out unattended or it will be dinner.
  21. I knew I should have gone on this trip. Awesome fish Mike!
  22. That's a brown, I don't think anyone other then the guy who caught it thinks it's an Atlantic.
  23. If Dave was fishing after Sept 31st, you might have a point. But I'm fairly certain he doesn't

    Macro Pics

For that Bluejay shot I'd shoot it as wide open as possible (lowest f stop your lens will do).. You should get a super sharp, crisp image.. You could also try shutter priority mode on your camera (Tv) and see what it turns out like. You'll wanna run around 1/320 or more to eliminate blur.
  25. I dunno, they aren't called mutant stockers for nothing See it everywhere on the southern shore Lake E tribs.. PA, OH, you name it..
