  1. The charger thinks it's one big battery when they're hooked up in parallel.
  2. I was told that the Guest charger I installed should be able to deliver close to it's max output (10a) to that single bank if need be. So I would assume the charging time would be the same regardless if you are using 1 bank @ 10amp compared to both banks at the same time @ 5amps each. Single bank will work with two batteries in parallel, yes. But if you go to a 24V system in the future, you'll require a 2 bank.. I've noticed most of the 1 banks aren't very powerful... Spring for the 2 bank and get more amperage, you'll be better off. I've got one massive deep cycle marine battery and another smaller (not so massive) deep cycle connected together on my Powerdrive. No issues with them working together.
  3. Oh so he slammed into the back of you while you were making the left? Can't believe charges weren't filed for that.
  4. I'll go with what the manufacturer of my trailer suggests..
  5. So you pulled out in front of a kid and he hit you?
  6. I run two 12v batteries on my PowerDrive.. Run them in parallel keeps 12v but doubles the amperage (They'll last long) You need to connect them - to - and + to +... If he wants to charge them with a on-board charger he's got two options. Use one bank of the charger connected to + on battery 1 and - on battery 2 with the batteries still in parallel. (This will charge them both) Or use one bank per battery, disconnected them from each other before charging (I gotta thank Roy for the above info)
  7. 10lb might coil up on them if they are using spinning reels.. Stick with 6lb
  8. This is the reason why I usually let tractor trailers go by before I make a right on a red, even if there is an open inside lane. It's not like they turn or stop on a dime, lol.
  9. I like fishing the French around Thanksgiving.. Always had fantastic action for smallies and pike.
  10. So stupid to have them expire Sept 31st.
  11. I know I've done it with NY and PA state licenses.
  12. It will usually make that person buy a yearly non-resident license instead... Especially if they are going to go back maybe 2-3 more times.
  13. 6-8lb mono is cheap and will work just fine.
  14. Around Thanksgiving... My fav time to hit the French.
  15. If it's strictly for icefishing, I'd pick a snowmobile.. If you are going to pick a 4wheeler, definitely 4wd.. I've used both out on the ice, the only time the 4wheeler really struggles is when there's a lot of snow or a lot of slush.. They tend to sink compared to a snowmobile in the same conditions. When you get into back lake icefishing, snowmobile hands down.
  16. Quetico and giant smallmouth bass... I'll be the guy paddling the SportsPal, lol!
  17. I was just laughing at how lucky I got with that shot, it definitely was taken by me
  18. Seeing that's it's a Mitchell, I would guess just another rod.
  19. They've been whining and complaining about people launching boats/canoes off the island since I was a little kid. Launch at the park and avoid the hassle. On the other side of the coin, it's public land.. I can't see how they can block access for people to launch canoes/tinnies via the island. Call the city and complain...
  20. Install went well (Who knew Lund used aluminum instead of plywood) that was a bit of a surprise when drilling the first hole under the passenger console, lol! I just need to extend the negative lead on bank #1 to run under the floor to the other battery located in front of the driver console..
  21. Probably the best shot I've ever taken, lol! Dinner! by billmarz, on Flickr Another decent one... Saugeen River Resident by billmarz, on Flickr Drew, those sturgeon shots are off the hook!!!!
  22. I would never bag on sales staff, I hope Jackie didn't take my post the wrong way (I could see how he could, my bad).. There are so many people that go into these stores and know absolutely nothing, having someone who is knowledgeable can really point them in the right direction the first time!
  23. I've got the visual floating around in my head, lol! Thanks bud... Looks like a 2 bank is exactly what I need if I plan to upgrade to a 24V system down the road.
  24. Roy, silly question... Would I charge a 24V system the same way? Odds are really good I'll be upgrading the Minn Kota in the near future... If that's the case (Only using 1 bank of the charger to charge both batteries) do I really need a 2 bank? Terry, I've read that the charger should be able to figure out I've got 2 batteries in parallel, I guess I'll see how things go once I get everything hooked up, lol.
  25. I'm pretty sure I don't have to, but I'd like to pick the brains of a few of you that have 2 bank onboard chargers that either charge a 24v system or a 12v system like mine running 2 batteries for extra capacity.. I think I'm going to go with the Guest 10amp 2 bank. Currently running a 12V system with 2 batteries in parallel for more capacity for my Minn Kota PowerDrive.
