You guys need to start comparing similar lakes in similar climate conditions. Comparing a lake some down south in the US with a massive growing season to our lakes up here make ZERO sense.

To play devils advocate here for a second, if you're fishing for nothing but sustenance you probably shouldn't be out in Nipissing in the first place. That's a silly argument if you ask me.

Agreed, take 2 cyls off the Duramax and make it a 6 banger. It still would make a tonne of hp/trq and probably get mid to high 20's (US MPG) in mileage.

I'm sure there are a few fall spawners, but most of them are hold over fish that spawn in the spring time.

There are a lot of guys that don't fish spring steelhead, I've been out the odd time in the spring, but I do 99% of my steelheading in the fall. Give them to me in the fall when they're full of piss and vinegar.

I find flouro doesn't hold up very well to shot being repeatedly moved around on it, it tends to fray (At least from my limited usage).. I like mono for shot line, it's strong and cheap.

This is going to have a great effect on the amount of returns we see each year. Great start if you ask me. Now if we could protect those spawning fish a bit more, I think we'd really be headed in the right direction.
