  1. BB, perhaps whoever made up that reg thought bigger = further which we all know isn't the case, lol!
  2. Sweet! Now where are all the salt water pics?!?!?!?
  3. A 12 gauge doesn't have near the reach as your standard rifle does. I've always assumed this is the reason why most rifles weren't allowed to be used closer to the populated areas.
  4. The government should worry about the people behind the wheel, that would most likely have the biggest impact on driving deaths in this province.
  5. You're telling me I should have to shell out XXXX amount of dollars for the government to tell me my car is safe each and every year? Riiiight. Almost as bad as the emissions test on my TDI... Nothing but a money grab.
  6. Looks killer Nick! I still haven't been out for coyotes, if you're ever up for teaching a rube the ropes, let me know, lol!
  7. Owls are killer! Awesome shot!
  8. This man knows what he's talking about.. Even the cheapest winters are better then the best all seasons when the snow hits.
  9. Yeah, the 24-70mm is a pig for sure. I think that's about it's only downfall.
  10. Just a thought, but why not get a used 24-70mm f2.8 ver 1? That's one of the best lenses Canon has ever made.. Usually pick them up used in the $1300 price range.
  11. Would love some more white stuff on the ground!
  12. So how many people actually showed up?
  13. All the batteries that come with the portable units usually are 7ah. They work just fine out on the ice. 9ah, even better just more run time.
  14. For a newb the last thing I'd recommend is a flasher. Get a graph, so much easier.
  15. Lots of guys just run their shot and float on the main line. Nothing wrong with that. I run 2 swivels in my setup. One above the float, one below.
  16. This is just at the Federal level though, it says nothing about Provincial laws in place to protect the rivers or lakes.
  17. I wasn't in the mood to get greased out on Kempenfelt Bay last year, so I did most of my ice fishing north of Barrie Lakers were good, whitefish were few and far between, even in the spring when everyone thought it was going to be a slay in the boats it was for the most part crap. Let's hope we get some decent ice this year.
  18. The way Simcoe was last year, that's a pretty good description!
  19. Yup, I remember I was greeted with a nice 'Transducer not found screen' when I started up my graph the first time.. PITA!!!!! lol!!!
  20. Might wanna read those regs a bit closer. Parts of that river are open all year.
  21. Yup, no difference except for the design of the transducer itself.. I used a stsandard transducer on my 747c for a season but it was a pain in the ass. The ice transducer is so much easier.. Just drop it in the hole and go.. If you spend a lot of time on the ice, this is the way to go for sure. Also, flashers are great on the ice, but if this guy is a all season fisherman, get a graph.. A lot more versatile.
