  1. I'm gonna brave the weather and head out to the Kawarthas for one last bit of fishing. Next it will be Quinte and Erie. Whos all givin it one last go tomorrow.
  2. Dont you have to pay to launch there.
  3. Yeah. Takes a while to figure those mistakes out on all the lakes. Just make your own with Map Create software. Takes a long time though. The new ones will be out for this year for great lakes regions so we will be ablt to get that type of Definition. Cant wait.
  4. I think they will tell more in like 10 mhours or something. How do you like those Gary Parsons and Keith Kavajecz design rods for trolling. I see that you have been down a couple of times.
  5. http://www.panbo.com/archives/2008/10/hds_...fresh.html#more This stuff looks sweet. Built in Broadband sounder. I just bought one this fall for my existing units. Works great and to have it built in is awesome.
  6. I fish that lake quite often and have not seen a tourney there as of yet unless its a local small one. By the time your 70mph boat gets on full plane you are at the other side allready. You can fish it at night and you will be safe. My boat does go that fast but not at night. Still I would not want to hit anyone with no lights. Play it safe. Most tourney guys have boats put away. Make sure you have lights though, no matter if its a canoe or not. I will be there Sunday all day fishin for walters and crappie.
  7. You have a no go zone near the plant allready. Security will escort you out of there. I use to be able to go real colse. I can still get close at times for smallies around the shallow rock breakwall but very rarely. T^here are some nice browns there to be caught with slow trolling. I get some nice Smallies with tubes and dropshots. Some nice Pike there at times as well.
  8. Stephan is a soap factory. Had the water tsted myself because of all the rumors. The same guys who test my cottage well water. Water and fish are fine fom there. No worries. Was a spill from a previous plant but nothing seroius. No have to worry about glowing in the dark or anything.
  9. Hey Cudz, Was there on Saturday. Fishing has really slowed down there right now. The 2 guys I had with me wanted to go after smallies in Balsam so we left around 12 noon. We got 9 walleye. Nothing real big this time. Boat launch is at Longford mills road, I think thats the name. Just go past Casino Rama about 3 km and its on your right. Big smallies/Largies/Pike and Crappie there as well
  10. Hey guys what about the old form of Radio, the CB Radio or the VHF. I'm sure safety comes in effect on this list along with Safety Flares.
  11. They are around here. We had a note in our mailbox 2 years ago about 2 cougars in our area. We were told to keep our animals under watch as well as our kids. One of my workers saw one or a large cat while taking the work truck home last year at Meadowvale and old finch crossing near the bridge. I think they have been introduced again by the Ministry. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  12. There is always a choice. Wether or not you decide to make the right one or not is up to the animals owner. Let a friend or neighbor or someone take care of them until they get back on their feet. I have a dog that was a shelter dog and will probally get another. 3 dogs right now and love them like family. One guy beat this poor beagle an killed his mother in a field. Took this dog 2 years to get to trust me. They go fishing, hunting, cottage, long drives to Newfoundland each year, etc . I just have to say boat or truck and they are at the door in seconds. I vaccum the hair each weekend out of my truck. They shed, big deal. We will be having a baby in Feburary and will raise my children with them. Sorry but this world has become a throw away society. Same as children. Raise them properly and they will be ok. Dogs are a reflection of their owners. My 2 cents
  13. I have seen a few this year in my backyard. I live on the other side of Meadowvale rd, the other side of the river. I have yet to see a cougar but have found a few dead animals mangled all to hell these last couple of years while walking along there. I have 2 beagles with me mostly and have seen a bear track or 2 as well down there. You can hear the turkeys sometimes. Coyotes are plentiful and just plain sots, not afraid of anything. Tons of dear and other wildlife around here. PS the cougars you are speaking of are usually at Wobbly Pops at Manse and Kingston rd on any given night. Beware though!!! Make sure you get your shots first.
  14. THe curado 5:0:1 reels are great for slow rolling bigger blades on spinnerbaits and is awesome for bigger wakebaits or cranks. I even have the 3 speeds fromk shimano as well. You can get by with a normal 6 speed reel its much nicer and easier on your arms with these when you use a technique such as slow rolling or cranking. I love my 5 ratio reels for swimbaits like the Giron and Matt lures
  15. I have had several of these trucks in the last 7 years. I just sold one of my 2500 HD trucks and I beleive I have an older set of Michellin tires out back in the Garden shed. I think they are around 50-60 % tred left. They are 16". You can come pick them up for free if you want. I dont need them and was going to throw them away. I will check tomorrow to see how well they still are. These dunlops are probally the best all around tire for these trucks. I run my own construction company and the others dont stand up in the mud and snow and all the rest of the crap. I have had several, General, Goodyear, Firestone(Just threw out an almost new set, Complete junk, Nail magnets.), Toyo tires are great for the Asphalt but not for offroad.
  16. I run the same tires on both my Silverados. Started using them last year. So far they have been the best ones. Warranty is good from there as well. You wont go wrong with them.
  17. Goof off works wonders. I have the same problem with mine. 2 large pine trees and it works very well.
  18. Look for a tracker Avalanche if you can find one.
  19. Those Princecrafts are very nice boats as well. Have 2 buddies with them.
  20. Congrats Brian. Must be exciting for you and your wife. I'm awaiting our first child in Feburary as well. Very exciting.
  21. Has anyone ever had any dealings with Tracker Marine in Vaughan, Ontario. How was it. Likes and dislikes. Feel free to PM me if need be. Just want to know peoples experience with them. Thanks
  22. Just do what I do with my trucks and my boat. Pull out the fuse for the fuel pumps or some other sort of fuse. Cant steal if it wont start. Lol. I have had 2 truck stolen with antitheft and GPS locators as well. Where there is a will there is a way. All the tricks they have I figured they dont normally carry fuses.
  23. I just clean them. Wash off all slime. Soak them in milk for about 20 minutes. Mix up a 50/50 mix of all purpose flour and rice flour with some salt and pepper and a little bit of real butter, not mnargarine in the pan and thats it. I grew up eating them like this. You can also fry a slice of Bologhna first in the pan to give a different flavor. OH I cut them from the back and butterfly them rather then cleaning them the usuall way. I also take out any bones that way. Mmmmmmm. Great now I'm hungry!
